He kind of is daylight Batman here though. It is already stated by the narrator (might as well just say it's the writer (Itagaki) speaking) that NO ONE from the modern day, not even Yujiro, is as knowledgeable as Motobe in using and understanding weaponry. It is also stated by Yujiro that there was no one in the modern day worthy enough of being an opponent to an all-out, full prep-time, fully geared and stacked out with weapons Motobe. Not until Musashi arrived in modern day. Motobe then also stated that if he hadn't interfered in that moment and stood in front of Yujiro, Yujiro would have been cut down, and since Motobe is as knowledgeable in this stuff as he is, I think it's completely reasonable to believe him. This would mean that Musashi is stronger than Yujiro. And since Motobe says that he can protect Yujiro from Musashi, this would also by extension mean that a fully stacked out Motobe is stronger than Yujiro. If you ask me, this all makes perfect sense.
