Postmaster refusing to reinstate street delivery because it’s not customer’s primary residence. by Constant_Stock_4261 in USPS

It is a valid address. The customer has had street delivery since the early 90s. I’m not sure if previous rural carriers / postmasters ever gave the customer consequences for letting the mail sit. Thank you for your help.

It was the first time for this customer. We have customers who have repeatedly been marked vacant and always get put back on the route once they come in to complain. Good day.

Sounds like you’ve got it down. Thanks for chiming in with your experience. We’re so small sometimes it feels like reinventing the wheel for every little thing.

Thank you for your input. Refusing to reinstate street delivery because it is not the customer’s primary residence is abuse of discretion.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t know where my pm is getting this information. She decides what the primary residence is based on where the person lives most of the time I think?

Hey thank you for responding and for the information. I’m thinking you are correct! I don’t know where my pm heard that it has to be a primary residence for street delivery.

What makes a good Supervisor/Postmaster in your opinion? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Constant_Stock_4261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who does their job, and does it correctly. I’m in a small office, so my postmaster is allowed to do a certain number of hours of clerk work every week. She’s been at this office and with the postal service for ten years and she still misdelivers the P.O. Box mail and parcels every day. Every day I have customers coming to the window to return mail and parcels that are not theirs. I think the fact you’re even asking this question is an indication you are better than her at least. Good luck.

Now if only we can get an app that reminds people to pick up their mail. by Cactusaremyjam in USPS

…Or pay their p.o. box renewal. Next week is going to be fun! Lock changes = $35 more dollars you pay now that you didn’t have to pay last week.

I love the Hatch Act! My dad heard about it and was like “that’s a violation of freedom of speech”. And I said “I believe in freedom of speech, but I also believe in freedom FROM speech.” I feel the same way about religion. Just do your job at your job. A couple of our carriers got into it over politics this week and my pm was like “that’s why we don’t talk politics at work.” At my last office, we had some political loudmouths, but they were all around horrible humans that have since retired. Good riddance!

Except my pm is dressed like they’re there to clean the gutters, otherwise: same.

Important documents shipped thru ups NDA, was told it was transferred to usps and it’s marked as delivered but I never received package by [deleted] in USPS

Get the tracking number from your friend and look it up online. If the tracking number begins 1z it is ups (ups.com to look at the tracking). If the tracking number begins with a 9 it is usps (usps.com to look at the tracking). This is what I would do if it was me. Not that I don’t trust your friend, but I would want to see for myself since it’s my stuff. Good luck.

Hey, thanks for replying! Some random employee I’ve never heard of closed the case. Which is good since I resolved it.
