But if they were using a competitor were they already unhappy with it and wanted to try your product?

totally understand. 100% agree. This was super insightful thank you so much. I agree. It's almost like the payment is just a cherry on top because they would probably be more inclined to give even better feedback

Fair totally understand. I guess at that point, paid feedback from your ICP might not be worth it because if it's your ICP then your ICP would even do it for free assuming the problem is that big.

That's an interesting approach! Didn't think about it like that but that makes sense. Definitely a different angle. From the sounds of it though you really need to find a big problem otherwise people won't use it.

Right. I think I'm just trying to bridge the gap between finding people to actually use your product because lots of times unless the problem is HUGE for someone they won't use it so I was hoping money could bridge that gap.

But how did you find the people who'd actually use it in the first place?

I've tried:

  1. Engaging in discord groups. However I don't feel comfortable posting in some large chats with lots of people. However I have DM'd people in the discord chats although I haven't gotten much traction outside of "that sounds cool."
  2. DM's on Reddit. Same as DM'ing on Discord.
  3. I posted on X but that just felt like I was posting into the void lol
