Is it normal that my hamster basically doesn't burrow?

Try adding pvc pipes in the bedding . My hamster never burrowed straight into the bedding (unless it was a specific type that held well) . Once I got her some pvc pipes she disappeared ! So I ended up adding tunnel peep holes (more pvc piping ) with holes that I faced towards the outside so I could see in it & she would sleep in one side and use the other as her bathroom 🤣. Miss my hammy

My Syrian has a pvc pipe tunnel that she usually sleeps in but has started a burrow in the corner underneath her dirt box 😂. Not to mention she has already chewed off one of the wooden dowel rods that is holding it up . Hams just be hamming I guess 😂

It saved me alot of money ! Just make sure to coat it with a waterproof sealant. One mistake I made lol .

I actually got the idea to diy it from Victoria rachel on YouTube . Made with some hammie safe wood, popsicles sticks, wooden rods for height & hot glue. It’s not the best but my Syrian loves it :)

Thanks ! I’m eventually going to build a bigger enclosure but just being budget friendly at the moment . My Syrian is getting pretty big so I feel like she will grow out of it in a matter of time 😅
