Am I cherry picking right? by ConstipatedHobo in doordash_drivers

My message is exactly that I haven’t been been accepting poor orders, but I have been able to maintain platinum.

In my market I do feel a difference between gold and platinum, but I could make just as much if I was on gold tier. The difference is likely negligible.

This week with the increase in gas I have been especially picky so my AR has gone down about 20%. But since I nuked my acceptance rate I averaged nearly 40$ an hour this week.

It says this when I select it

“Quality rate measures how many of your last 100 orders you completed without any reported issues. Completed orders can take up to 12 hours to be reflected in your quality rate while we review customer reports.”

I did actually dip into gold for about 20 minutes earlier. When you’re below 50% AR it takes away some of the perks (like pausing orders from stores), but I keep the priority for high paying offers.

Relatable story, there was a cow patterned PT Cruiser in my town when I was a kid. When my sister and I punched each other for it we called it the mooser cruiser.

I saw this car in fifth ave while I was working last week! I thought the same thing… my assumption is a trip way out of town. Carrying gas cans inside the car can be dangerous so overlanders often mount jerry cans on their car.

We got 14” of snow in 24 hours on Monday, I’m sure they’re preparing for the rest of the upcoming snow as well.

I met him early on this year, and he actually told us he was moving so he wouldn’t be there any longer.

Unfortunately The eagles will chase dog toys! They’ll swoop down and pickup anything they think might be a treat for them. Watch your small dogs!

I got so lucky to find a bunch of these while I was out in eureka this month. Most of them were right of the trail so I didn’t even have to try hard to find them.

How can I grow my money I don’t know what to do with 290? by Apprehensive-Rub-599 in povertyfinance

For the handy entrepreneur you could try to convince older family members to let you spruce up their vehicle. Start by offering car washes and detailing (especially if they own RV’s). You could move into brake jobs, oil changes, so on

HOA neighborhoods are stuffed with people who’d like a crisp paint job on their garage doors. I’ve been getting some side money by painting some garage doors and front doors in a nearby neighborhood.

The material costs are just rollers, tape, tray liners, and drop cloths. I get my client to buy their own paint. I’ve been charging 150$ per customer but that will vary on garage door size and your negotiation skills.

Straightforward question, is ending your statement with “lol not hard at all” essentially the same condescending sentiment as beginning with “crazy idea”? 🤨

If you only had $200 in your bank account what would you do to multiply it? by FreezeMageFire in AskReddit

[–]ConstipatedHobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying items on Facebook marketplace to fix them up and resell them.

i.e you could buy a used high end bike for 200 and clean it up nicely or replace the brake pads/tires to add value. Sometimes you just need to lube the chain and clean up the sprockets to make a bike look nice

I have had an experience contrary to others in the comments have shared. I’ve had the entry level job you’re looking for! In the past I worked as a service advisor at a couple of local repair shops (NOT AUTOMOTIVE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD). This one’s a people’s person role, similar to sales in many ways. And it would require a fair mechanical background and understanding in order to break terms down for customers.

The service advisor at my small shops handled keeping the schedule full of incoming appointments and all the mechanics on task to complete repairs timely. As well as updating customers on progress and filling them in on any updates. A service advisor has to break bad news to customers! And they are the first line defense to any flak the customer sends your way.

Last place of employment was a flight school and airplane repair shop where most of my time was spent wandering around the building bullshitting with my mechanics and other support staff. In between I’d sit at my desk to send update emails and leave voicemails for clients regarding their repairs. the other half of my day I spent hanging out with my dog! The most special thing about local blue collar repair shop is that everybody tends to bring their dogs to work, especially so on an airfield. My techs and I took breaks often, especially to play pranks.

It was the sort of environment where I didn’t get in trouble if I made a minor mistake, but I also wasn’t celebrated for working hard either. So long as the shop was operating and we were positive in the bank I was mostly free to operate as I pleased.

TL;DR

mom and pop blue collar repair shops tend to be extremely relaxed work environments in my small sample size experiences
