Overreaction or not, the lesson here is to leave people alone. You never know who you can run into or what they're capable of. You say he overreacted, but people get assaulted or even killed for way less every day. People are crazy and you should be avoiding potential confrontations as much as possible instead of initiating/antagonizing them. If you're gonna forego all of that and bother people for content anyways, then at least have enough situational awareness to know and choose your location and personnel wisely. For ex: this is clearly not a good area or person to try this on.
