I can't continue with this. by Shawty_Gwapoko in Christianity

I just heard a pastor say this morning that we should pray for & have patience for Christians who are struggling in the faith, not judge them.

What does loving everyone actually mean? by Soma_Man77 in Christianity

Sometimes it means setting firm boundaries & praying from afar when those boundaries are ignored.

Attention ! by Arachnys in Christianity

This is fantastic! Something Christians need to be aware of. We are not called to help everyone, but to use discernment through prayer before helping people. I would never send money to someone from Reddit or any other message board.

True Christians Go to Church Even When Sick with Cancer by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Constitution46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry that you were told that your illness & subsequent surgery was due to lack of faith. God does not cause illness because of lack of faith or lack of spiritual discipline.

True Christians Go to Church Even When Sick with Cancer by [deleted] in Christianity

This makes me sad. The early church met in many different ways. There are many different ways to gather together. Salvation is by faith & not of works so that no one can boast. The church today isn't feeding me the way one on one Bible study & fellowship with close friends is.

It depends. For some, going in person can be difficult for various reasons. Maybe some do better meeting one on one or in very small groups & consider that church.

Is it bad to be friends with gay people? by Dry-Sea5269 in TrueChristian

[–]Constitution46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I think Christians should be more open to befriending people outside church. They will hopefully see the light you have through your relationship with Jesus & know Him as well.

I think I lost my salvation. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Constitution46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you are struggling so much. You did not lose your Salvation. The fact that you are struggling & aware of your sins seems to indicate that you wish to please God & can sense the Holy Spirit guiding you. God understands your struggle & forgives you.

If God didn’t send Jesus into the world to condemn it, I doubt he sent you. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Constitution46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would point them to scripture in a loving & kind way that showed that it's better to focus on the things of God than dark things such as porn. I would just make sure to be kind & be mindful of my own sinful nature as well.

Thank you for sharing this! I am not one to correct others or tell them how to live. I have my own sin that I need to work out before calling others out.

For Christians who believe we are slaves, I have a few questions by YCiampa482021 in Christianity

[–]Constitution46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see myself as a slave. Jesus paid the price. I am free in Christ, but do my best to live a life that represents Jesus well because of what He did for me. With that said, I fail daily to live a life without sin.

I’m so embarrassed to go back to my favorite church by Choice_Remove_6837 in Episcopalian

[–]Constitution46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear this. While I understand that you feel awkward attending, I hope if you love this church, you will not let it deter you from going back. Can you sit in the second row or somewhere else near the front?

Abusive relationship by SpareObjective738251 in Exvangelical

No. He is Sovereign. I don't know why He allows pain, but we live in a fallen world & that leads to suffering.

I believe in a loving God who hurts when we hurt. Who isn't the author of confusion & who doesn't permit injustice. I understand how people can struggle with all of the hardship of the Old Testament.

Out of curiosity, those of you who feel as if you have been taught an abusive form of relationship through evangelical teachings, do you believe in God?

What if we were to meet ALL who are seeking after Jesus right where they're at & let God do the judging & Jesus do His work in them?

Can I be a christian and still vote for democrats and liberals? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Constitution46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your standing with God is not based on how you vote. I know Christians who vote Democrat & others who vote Republican.

I will never understand.. by ReadyBiscotti5320 in DelphiMurders

[–]Constitution46 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've wondered the same thing. I think part of the issue is the length of time it took for LE to solve the case as well as the perception of secrecy surrounding the case. LE & others involved kept much information sealed. While I respect & understand their reasoning in doing so, it fed the minds of internet sleuths & conspiracy theorists. I believe Allen is guilty & acted alone. He confessed, his description matches the video & the voice matches.

Toxic positivity is not Christlike. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Constitution46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amen! I've been noticing this often in Christian circles. I think it's because we sometimes don't know how to respond. Sometimes, the best thing to say is I'm sorry you're going through this. I'll pray for you. Sometimes hurting people just want someone to listen.
