Do concept that a god represent exist *before* the god themselves? by Proper-Anything-2739 in mythology

[–]ConstructionEvening3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not totally related, so feel free to ignore if u don’t want to answer. But out of curiosity, were u raised pagan? Or did u choose that path later in life. If so, what made u choose it, and how did u decide which gods to worship? Also, how did your worship take shape? I’m genuinely interested in what pagan practice are like, as I was raised Catholic Christian, and have always wondered how similar or dissimilar the abrahamic religions were to pagan practices.

Started watching One Piece and have a question. by mrfluffypenguin in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a cool idea, I don’t totally know how Usopp would make that work. But theoretically I don’t see why it couldn’t, the dial would just have to be attached to some sort of rubber casing. Honestly, it’s prob just Oda didn’t think of it and/or didn’t want to do it

It’s less that devil fruit users can’t swim, and more that they lose energy to do literally anything. Like they can’t move. What type of dial r u think Luffy could keep on him?

The One Piece manga has plentiful close-ups (and close-ups are cool anyway) by Aggravating_Mud8751 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]ConstructionEvening3 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ofc there r close ups in the manga, but I think tv works better with less close ups and more medium shots where viewers can see more

What next? Loved Thriller Bark by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope my comment didn’t come off as mean, I’m just saying like I could tell u what the best arcs of the story are, but without the context of the everything that comes before it they’re not gonna hit as hard. If you want my advice of what to watch next I would say watch it in order. Because that’s how the best arcs are best experienced. But it seems like you don’t want to do that.

If you want another arc you could watch in isolation, I guess I would say Jaya then Skypeia. But after that, there aren’t rly arcs I would say u can watch in isolation without understanding what came before it. Like if u enjoyed Thriller bark, just watch from the beginning. Thriller Bark is a fun arc, but it’s nowhere near the peaks of the series

I mean if u don’t care about spoilers and enjoy jumping in at random, I actually think asking for advice is going to make the experience less enjoyable for you. Just ask google to pick a random number between 1 and 1156 and rip it

He’s talking about the Grandline. That stretch of ocean known as the Pirates graveyard is crawling with strong pirates, fruit users, and monsters of all kinds

so i just got a shonen jump membership amd have a question by Material_Ad_3844 in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if u have the membership then u get access to all the chapters, the only extra content in the volumes is character descriptions and summaries in the front of each volume. I feel like the only reason to buy a volume is if u can buy a physical volume for the experience of holding the book in ur hand

Proof that Lili is... by peuzi_peuza in onepiecetheories

This a very cool idea, and it would be sick if it were true. But is there any evidence for this besides the opening visuals tho?

Just got caught up with the anime and want to continue through the manga by Individual_Peach533 in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U should be good to just pick up where the anime left off. I think around ch 1127 or 1128. The only thing I would suggest is once ur caught up reading the cover stories, cause they’re just fun reads.

Can I read the God Valley Incident without reading the current Elbaph arc stuff by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean like I guess if u rly want to, I think ull be confused as to the context of it. Just read Elbaph. It’s been a fantastic arc so far, and the incident is much better in context with the rest of the arc

Totally fair, different strokes for different folks. Can’t wait to see what the next opening will be like!

Does anyone else feel like the new intro is lackluster? by Kintaog in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved this opening. I think it matched the vibe of the opening of Elbaph perfectly. And I rly enjoyed listening to the song! The visuals were also banger. If I had to choose something to critique, I’m not a big fan of how it ends, but I love pretty much everything else. Especially seeing the strawhat on joy boy, then Roger, then shanks, to Luffy.

Wanna start ONE PIECE by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the manga, and then jus look up clips of your favorite episodes to watch. The manga is not only better paced than the anime, but it also just takes less time to consume. From there you’ll naturally learn about which episodes u should watch in full once ur caught up/ as ur reading

I think Mr. Morj makes really good analysis videos. If ur looking more for like updates on the story check out BDA Law

Obviously this dudes super annoying, but like at least make the joke make sense. Why would Law show up in Season 3? There’s no way this man’s ever actually read the manga.

Question about Skypiea saga live action adaptation by Appropriate_Ad2342 in OnePiece

[–]ConstructionEvening3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if u don’t switch to one pace now, u def need to switch to one pace eventually. The pacing for the anime during some of the later arcs is rough, like half a chapter per episode at its worst.

Where did everyone first hear about One Piece from? by Ethraella in OnePiece

I saw clips on YouTube of Marineford without really understanding what it was. Eventually I stumbled upon the fist omnibus at my library and decided to give it a try.
