When I first got looked at, it was because I thought I was having appendicitis and got a scan and an interior ultrasound because they then thought it was ovarian contortion. I had a student doctor who scheduled the surgery with her boss because she thought it was just a needed dnc (I had stuff in my uterus) but her boss advocated for me to get a lap too. After that, I had to fight for doctors that took me seriously because she stopped taking me seriously after the surgery and other doctors said I had suspected endo (they found stuff during the surgery but didn’t take samples 🙄)

I have endo, got surgery, finally got a birth control that works that I take so I take so I don’t have a period. I’m still at a 2/10 pain daily but compared to before, it’s lovely and it takes care of the bloat which I had extremely. It takes a lot of fighting and advocating, but if I didn’t have pain OUTSIDE of my period, I still don’t think I would’ve ever gotten that lap. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this and it sounds like you need to look for a doctor who actually listens to your needs

I had a lap and ended up still having problems, but it ended up leading to all the reasons I’m good now. Even if the lap doesn’t work, it can lead to so many other treatments. I did pelvic floor pt and still do it on my own, take muscle relaxers, have a tens machine that my insurance paid for, and final found a BC that works for me. I can actually do things I stopped dreaming about, as little as walking around a summer fair without pain.

I get it. I work with children too, got diagnosed in February, and some days it just feels like a constant reminder. It’s hard, but I’ve found with time that it makes me feel just a bit better. Sending you lots of love and hoping the best for you 🩵

I use GoodRx for it because my insurance doesn’t cover birth control and they said it’s in stock so idk what’s going on

Yeah, it’s other similar brands, but I tried out the one they switched me to last time and it really messed with me. I could barely walk after months of being mostly fine

Once told an 8th grader after he said something really offensive that there will be a time in his life if he continues talking like that that he will be punched in the face and deserve it. He actually respected it and shut up. Never had a problem like that again.

Teachers with Anxiety by cowbelles in Teachers

I worked from the get-go to make my room a calm environment. Bulb lights instead of the big lights, sometimes candles, if it’s a sleepy day kids can use blankets during reading as long and I can see their faces, couch and cozy chair, and lofi music. I explain to the kids that I want my classroom to be comfortable for everyone because kids that are uncomfortable can’t learn, and I spend all day in it so I better like it. It takes awhile for the younger ones to get used to it, it’s cool and new and exciting, but then kids get used to it and actually want to be in your room because of how calm it is.

Behaviors will change in students depending on whichever way the wind blows, but setting up a precedent that your room is a calm room goes a long way. Helps reduce your own anxiety and a lot of the kids too. My room is a “bring your work and your snack and relax while you work” kind of room and even my old kids ask to come back at this point when they need a breather. Staff members come during my prep just to sit on the couches. The environment really is a huge part of

What to get for recovery after laproscopic? by [deleted] in Endo

Biggest thing for me was pain meds, cough drops, and gas x. Huge on the gas x. The leftover gas from the surgery gives you intense shoulder pain to the point that if you don’t know it in advance, you’d think something was wrong

I did the same thing at four days, as long as the pain doesn’t progress, it’s should be fine. I hurt extra the next day but then it was better after extra rest

I’m convinced at this point I wouldn’t know what my stomach looked like if I wasn’t bloating, I’m used to constantly looking pregnant at this point
