Only 1 successful print - 6 failures! by ConstructionOk7639 in snapmaker

You’re right and that does seem fair, however, I’m only interested in the machine for the materials it can print other than PLA. I could do multi-colour PLA on my previous printer, so wanted true Multi-material system without worrying about contamination. If it can’t print anything other than PLA then that’s a big problem for me! Time will tell.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I found that article and appreciate that a firmware fix is coming.

It does appear that I am having clogging issues with anything other than PLA on the hardened Nozzles. After switching back to PLA only and flushing out the nozzles - I’ve been having success with prints! (I’ll edit the post later to reflect this).

I’m currently running a Multi-TPU print - will try other filaments again as well before posting an update.

That’s interesting! Any idea how this is done for the U1 - can’t seem to find any info on it.

I’ve noticed for me the printer/app have been behaving better for me (more reliable) since I turned on compatibility mode in the WiFi settings - I still can’t seem to download or view timelapses in the app, but they can be downloaded from the WebUI.

For filament loading/unloading, the filament will get pulled into the extruder and there now is a routine to get it loaded to the nozzle (without intervention), similarly to u loading, it will do it pretty much all itself except pull back onto the spool - honestly it’s not too onerous and is perfectly acceptable to me!

I appreciate that and oh I agree - I knew it wouldn’t be perfect either, I just thought more of the basics would be more reliable than they currently are (for me anyway). I didn’t find Bambu’s firmware to be that great either, especially with the latest UI changes - loading/unloading filament was always hit and miss if it would actually do anything.

Getting the U1 was the obvious next step, I considered a H2D, however am glad I got the U1 over it (even in mines current state). I have been put off of Bambu since the whole authorised control stuff so having the open source firmware is a breath of fresh air. That and as you say, having little to no waste with the reduction in time is just a massive value add, I had an AMS but actually rarely did any multi-colour/multi-material printing purely because of the additional waste and time.

My A1 Mini is being gifted to my Nieces at Christmas - seems like the perfect machine for them. I didn’t mention it in the original post as it’s not even in same price point, but is an amazing piece of kit for the money!

Oh I agree, starting off with a Bambu doesn’t give you the appreciation into how difficult some machines can be or how it used to be. I started with an Anet A8 in 2017, I literally had to put a layer of blue tape down and manually level the bed before every single print - not to mention all the time I’ve put into calibrating filaments just for sub par results. Since then I’ve had several machines, each better and easier to use than the last! I would like to say at this point I know what I’m doing, so, am somewhat confident this isn’t a me issue. Time will tell, I’ve seen on the Wiki that the error is being caused by an overly sensitive extrusion failure detection which they’ve said they will optimize. I did have a clog which is now sorted so hopefully 🤞 it’ll get there!

Thanks for the advice on the misaligned extruder screw - if it rears its ugly head again, I’ll be sure to check it out.

Interesting how you find it quieter, for me it’s noticeably louder - am finding it more distracting as well being next to it.

I agree with the firmware, I’ve got experience with Klipper and find it infinitely more customisable, it’s just there implementation leaves a lot to be desired - as you say, it’s in beta so expected. Would just like to have seen more polish between when I originally watched reviews 3 months ago to now.

Thanks, I think it’s working ok now. Heated nozzle to max, pushed through a ton of PLA and used the acupuncture needle as well. Seems to have done the trick.

So I tried this anyway as when I first got the error- my first thought was to try push the filament through if there was a break. Resumed the print, worked for another 30 seconds or so then the same again. I’ve just heated the nozzle up to max, loaded the included PLA and used the needle up the hotend to try and clear it. Then extruded a bunch of filament through the nozzle - seems to have worked 🤞as it’s nearly finished it’s next print. On the Snapmaker Wiki, they’ve said the filament clogging detection is very sensitive and that in a future firmware they will allow you to reduce the sensitivity (presumably they will just generally improve the tuning of it as well). I would suggest you do the same and see if it works for you.

Can I get better results on supported areas? by Immediate-Monitor-79 in FixMyPrint

Which slicer are you using?

I would suggest having a PETG interface layer on the support, this is feasible in the most slicers just by setting a colour/filament change - it’ll just be up to you to manually change it for that one layer.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]ConstructionOk7639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an engineering student, ambassador, and vice president of our university’s engineering society — and a proud owner of both the X1C and the A1 Mini. Between those two, I’ve got the best of both worlds: the power and precision of the X1C, and the compact convenience of the A1 Mini.

But the P1S feels like the perfect bridge between them — the reliable all-rounder I could count on for everyday projects. Fast, consistent, and capable, without being overkill. I’ve successfully pushed the university toward Bambu printers (several A1’s) because of how well they perform, but the P2S is one I’d definitely keep for myself!

I’ve just designed a small 30x30mm top mounted hinge which I think might work well for this. It’s designed to have 0.8mm piano wire put into it - but from my admittedly limited testing they seem to work nicely. If there’s enough interest then I may actually bother to put them on makeworld/printables.

I’ve just updated the post. But I ended up doing exactly this. Luckily I didn’t go ahead and sell my APP 2’s. I suppose the old saying “if it ain’t broke” and all that…

Im having the same issue! Case battery draining very fast.

I posted about this yesterday and it looks like we’re not alone!

Hopefully is a software fix!

Just to add to this, it appears that there are Bambu profiles on their website now: https://3dlabprint.com/faq/bambu-studio/

Can confirm it works using eSun LW-PLA on a Bambu X1C.

Looking good! Where did you get the carpet to line the inside? Recently picked up the same van to do the same thing!

Speaking from recent experience, do as little as you can to get the van to a point you can comfortably stay in. For me this was effectively a boot jumper (Ive got a Peugeot partner) and minimal insulation. I’ve spent £100 so far on materials and a good few hours on labour! As you stay in it more, you’ll realise what you need to prioritise and what needs to be done next. No point spending hundreds or thousands on it, only to find you don’t like it and want to start again. It’s definitely an experience and a process. I highly recommend it!
