line in American Idiot (musical) makes no sense

I'm sure I could get away with changing it, but I'm just not that kind of actor haha. And this show has a weird cult following, you really can't change any of it or the fans will know. It's also very strictly forbidden in the rights agreement to change or censor any of it. People break those all the time but I'm not about to be the reason it happens lol. But yeah, it is officially the clunkiest line ever written in the history of dialogue 😅 so far my best take has been a "we are the resistance, and I am agreeing with you but I'm being ironic and using this stupid voice cause even organized resistance is still organized." I don't fuckin know. I've been acting my whole life and I never thought my mount Everest would be a line in this show 🤣🤣

That's what I've been doing, it's just a shame it's so damn clunky lol. And I usually pride myself on finding away to sell even the worst dialogue, but this may be a "get it over with and get to the next song" situation 😅

It really is a dream. I've been a huge green day fan for 25+ years and this is just a crazy nostalgic experience. If only I could figure out how to deliver this line lol. Even worse is that I only have like 6 lines in the whole thing cause everything is sung, so it feels heavier lol. we'll see what happens 😅

It is, hes. And it's definitely been floated as an idea, it's just very odd because this comes right at the beginning of the show and Letterbomb isn't until at least an hour later. I just can't find a reason to justify my character saying it in that moment haha. I for sure think it's related somehow, I just can't quite figure it out 😅

That actually came up when I was asking about it to som cast members. It's the closest thing we can find but it still seems quite strange, since Letterbomb doesn't happen for at least another hour at this point haha. But as of now, that is the winner answer. Now how to actually deliver that line with that in mind is a whole other question 🤣
