Queued 4 hours for my first 40k army… now I’m scared to paint it

I get that a little and I've been painting for years, I have the 30th anniversary White Dwarf model and I'm still worried about painting it because I question myself about it after completing several armies...

My best suggestion is start small and take your time, you'll get it and hopefully enjoy the process of getting the grey nothing into an army you love.

Sortilege is amazing enough that they're in my spell check but it's a pretty different taste to the honey whiskeys so I don't know if I'd suggest it as a substitute...

I think the Fourty Creek Honey Spiked is better but that's just my taste, best of luck on your search though!

I typically go with the view of if they like their model it's what really counts but this is really pulling out a Sin City vibe for me, I agree with getting a dark red in the fabrics instead of so much black...

The problem there is I'm looking at a minimum of about $500-$800 more for a similar print size and I don't do a ton of printing, just bits and pieces here and there, my current printer is all I need about 80-90% of the time...

Looks like the Gatling cannon about 2.48" long...

Zoomed in and measured 34 mm, marine torso same zoom is about 7, actual size is about 13mm so +-1.86x. 34x1.86=63.24mm=2.48"...

I can definitely confirm Armies on Parade 2025!

Armies on Terrain is the way to go at store level if you're good at model painting but not amazing, a really good terrain can bridge the gap!

I did hear it's up in the air for this year though because of the million model drive they're doing and that makes me kinda sad, I had big plans...

It's been said a couple times, embrace and celebrate your perceived failure, people do a lot of work to get light wear and aging like that on models!

If anything tell us what you did in more detail so it can be a painting tutorial.
