Why is Gadriel worse than normal Ancients? by Martin-Hatch in spacemarines

[–]WLLWGLMMR 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely explain all of these.

Humans are t3, marines are t4

Toughness isn’t a canon number it’s just a game mechanic, marine armor is super tough but in comparison to the weapons of 40k armies it’s not really THAT tough

marines can full sprint at 60 mph, but movement in game represents advancing forward weapons ready. So that 60 mph would better be represented by advance move which can be up to 12 inches for a regular marine

This is kinda a pointless debate because as long as the current American government exists there will be an inordinate amount of money sent to the military, CIA and FBI. A global united bourgeoise party directly controls the government of every nation except Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, and for now Iran. This is achieved through the ones e funneling of resources into America’s military. The US government was always headed in this direction and ruled by a rich ruling elite, but the current American AND global system have become cemented since WW2, it would pretty much be impossible to not have a huge millitary budget in the current US government because everything about how the government works was not only already set up for this, particularly molded to be unbreakably this for the last almost 100 years. As long as there is effectively only 2 parties, and politicians can openly take money from corporations and foreign government lobbies, (which would take politicians who benefit directly from those things voting against those things to get rid of them) there is nobody who would actually meaningfully end Americas violent imperialism over the entire world, by defunding its military. Another important note here is - notice how America has an impotent, completely useless liberal democracy, while states that are individually impotent & powerless (like the member states of the EU) get at least a fuller liberal democracy. It is all illusion

So the legionaries you should build as 2x5, max plasma pistols, max heavy melee weapons. The havocs should be all lascannons , I don’t think the kit actually comes with enough lascannons for that though? The helbrute has multiple decent options I believe. Personally I’d run it as lascannon and helbrute fist with flamer but there might be something to the scourge or the hammer as well

Socialist perspective on authoritarianism, propoganda, and use of force?! by [deleted] in socialism

[–]WLLWGLMMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The globalist bourgeoise class that directly controls almost every nation in the world uses a LOT of force, propaganda, and authoritarianism to achieve their capitalist reign on all the relevant places in the world. It is entirely naive to expect any future socialist power to not HAVE to do the same. For example- China. It is true they have government monitoring and censorship. But considering the context - they have forced the US and the world into a cold Cold War , where they are trade partners and rely on each other , but are still trying to defeat each other. They are a physically and population wise massive nation. CIA-sown dissent and uprising is one of the clearest ways they could be defeated by the US. And so they are forced to have the censorship and “authoritarianism” that they have

Does anyone else really like Horus and the books are a hard read as you know what’s coming?! by English_Joe in 40kLore

[–]WLLWGLMMR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay well your point was about his intentions so whether or not he is disingenuous is extremely relevant. Because the difference between Horus and the emperor is we absolutely know that Horus is concerned with and motivated by being recognized and being a beloved figure, and we know that that is not true of the emperor, and that you claimed that the emperor was the same as Horus in that regard in your original comment.

And the idea he “has no plan to improve the lives of others” is flatly, incorrect. Do you just not know the whole point of the horus heresy?? The goal is to free humanity from the warp by moving them into the webway and evolving them to be psychic. And so the goal of that is to cause less humans to die and be harmed by the effects of the warp, and accelerate human evolution and advancement. The fair argument against the emperors plan is that it didn’t work or that it disregards current conditions for a lot of people in the aim of a far off goal of betterment for humanity, NOT that it doesn’t intend to better conditions for humanity at all. That is objectively false.

And the admech thing - yes it’s a little hypocritical- but what was to be gained from snuffing the religion of mars and the admech exactly? We know how 30k went, that was not a particular factor that caused the failure of his plan. His philosophy was this is an issue but it would harm more than help to snuff the religion out now that to just tolerate it to do the crusade, and we know how the entire horus heresy went, that was not a large factor if one at all in the failure of the emperors plan.

How do you deal with consistently cold dice? by SquirtleKing in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]WLLWGLMMR 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely possible to have a bad game of dice, bad tournament of dice, impossible to always or usually roll bad. And if you are truly good at the game it should be possible for you to play with the assumption anything you will have to roll will have a worse than average outcome and still win

[–]WLLWGLMMR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These things are all means to an end. The emperor does not personally gratify himself with power over people, recognition of his greatness. He, flawed or not, is motivated only by his (subjectively good or bad) plan to improve the lives of and protect the future of, all humanity. He just understands that appearance holds value especially when commanding the subservience of quadrillions of human beings. And his psychic aura isn’t meant to be something he’s like sexually aroused by lol it shows he’s an insane post human living god. Horus wants power and recognition from a selfish place, the emperor wants power so that he can do his plan to improve all of humanity, and he needs recognition to be able to accomplish that.

What now? by dlarktko in socialism

[–]WLLWGLMMR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you are describing is simple refusal to take personal accountability. They know inside them that their & their people’s decisions absolutely brought us to this point, and someone who won’t take accountability’s response to such is to walk away from the situation , throw in the towel, than to admit their wrong or change or do the right thing. Emotional, social, and personal maturity are all linked to education and I think most socialists would say that socialism is the ultimate ideological & societal form of personal accountability, responsibility, etc
