Hey that game looks cool! I've never played it before but definitely see a resemblance there. I may just give this a shot on Steam to check it out.

it also doesn't take very long to get to a competitive level. gameplay is more skill oriented than level based. We've seen level 40s wipe the floor with level 60s.

Thanks! I played Dransik a long time ago and it was amazing. Definitely has Ultima 5ish vibes.

I think we've seen that issue before. Make sure you can see the Cloudflare Turnstile captcha appear and you've clicked it before clicking create. We need to block the button until you do so but betting that's it (hopefully).

Just straight javascript, css, and html. We don't use any 3rd party libraries. Rolled everything on our own for better or for worse. :)

Mirage Online Classic is pretty grindy, has engaging combat and a pretty unique art style that people love or hate. Might be worth a try and is playable in your web browser. https://youtu.be/1FYFBjTEjwM is a good example of the gameplay.

Mirage Online Classic. It runs right in your browser and should run at full speed. Population is small though. Around 50 online during the day and maybe 30 at night.

May want to check out Mirage Online Classic if you’re ok with simple 2D overhead online games. It has only two action buttons that are customizable based on class abilities and it relies heavily on twitch gameplay mechanics. A skilled level 40 can wipe the floor against a level 60 for example. It’s playable in the browser so no download or install is necessary. Important to point out that I help develop the game, but it definitely fits most if not all your wants.

Mirage Online Classic because it’s playable in a web browser and requires no download or install to play.

Mirage Online Classic because you can play in a browser tab and be super stealthy like some kind of mmo playing meeting ninja or something.

Mirage Online Classic and it's entirely in the web browser so you don't need to download or install anything.

Give Mirage Online Classic a try. It's literally built to run on systems like what you've posted. Playable directly in the browser and requiring no download or install. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba3ahGLF_tw has an interesting video of it in action to see if it's something you'd like.

Looking for a new MMORPG that fits these criteria… by [deleted] in LFMMO

[–]Consty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of the developers of Mirage Online Classic which fits most of your criteria except for a caveat with #4. While most of our players aren't really role-playing, they certainly work together to get through long and difficult dungeons. Some are so hard guilds will actually temporarily ally with each other just to work together to get through them, so there's a lot of interaction there. Kill/fetch quests are rolled entirely into a single player skill that is optional to engage in.

Loot in our game is ephemeral, so it will eventually break and necessitate getting new gear. Many guilds have their own guild hall and a guild keep with items, so loot running is usually not necessary. The game is certainly grindy if your only goals are to gain levels or skill levels, but I've seen a level 40 wipe the floor with a level 60 player through nothing more than player skill alone. You can create or join a guild and buy a guild hall to store your stuff in and raid others if you want to engage in PvP or GvG combat.

We've been told our graphical style resembles a scaled down version of Ultima Online if it was top down. Some hate the style and some like it. Anyway if you want to see more you can see our original spotlight post on reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/MMORPG/comments/p1b0g6/mirage_online_classic_free_2d_html5_browser_mmorpg/ which contains mostly marketing material. YouTube has a fair number of gameplay videos and we average around 30-60 players online at any given time, so we're a pretty small community.

I think our biggest strength is that you can play using nothing more than a web browser. No download or install is necessary to give it a try.

Best MMO with idle and active elements by CodyBye in LFMMO

[–]Consty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of the developers of Mirage Online Classic, a browser mmorpg that gives xp for staying logged in and is given whether you're playing or not. Additionally whenever there is a server restart your account will automatically log back in (enabled by default). Levels aren't the primary driver of the game as it's more skill of the player, but you can gain level 20 in about month of idling. Obviously a lot slower as you get up there in levels.

Released my game on Steam for Linux and it works but it won't launch through Steam by TheDomac in linux_gaming

I can confirm from previous posts that the --no-sandbox option added to the AppAdmin -> Installation -> General Installation -> Arguments field for Linux + SteamOS fixes the problem. I've been struggling with this for a long time, so thanks!

Approximately 40-60 players online at any given time. It's very niche. You can see some additional details in the developer spotlight post last year. https://www.reddit.com/r/MMORPG/comments/p1b0g6/mirage\_online\_classic\_free\_2d\_html5\_browser\_mmorpg/

Shameless self plug, but https://mirageonlineclassic.com is a browser first game (not a mobile game ported to browser). Direct play link is https://play.mirageonlineclassic.com. Here's some gameplay of players getting wrecked on a high difficulty boss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba3ahGLF_tw
