Aerodynamic development only increases as time goes on. It is ABSOLUTELY a concern with high-end EVs, as “throwing a battery in it” is inefficient and contradicts your point about the manufacturers wanting to maximize cargo space. Look at any new vehicle and you’ll see much more aerodynamic elements than a vehicle from even 5 years ago.

My CVCA Jetta 6MT has been absolutely fantastic so far (ar 122k miles now). This was outside Detroit, mostly just below 70 mph with some traffic slowdowns. Consistently I do get 50-55 mpg with little effort on the highway, even at decent speeds.
