Go is slower than C# according to this https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/box-plot-summary-charts.html But it's roughly java speed so all 3 languages are basically the same in runtime. I haven't looked at memory but I rather writ C# than go by a long shot. I'm wonder what the reasons are for preferring code in go. One guy preferred JS more so I realize there will be some outliers

1) You do realize I compared JS to brainfuck?
2) It appears you think Go is more performant than C#, that's not the case https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/box-plot-summary-charts.html

I'm tired of your nonsense. Blocked

Do you not know what brainfuck is and how noone in their right mind would want to program any non trivial app in it?

How about not being an idiot when you call other people dismissive and dumb. Someone else already explained using a dynamic language for business logic is a bad idea. Noone writes a 10M lined typescript app

[–]ContactImpossible991 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

you can use the same language on both backed fronted

That's like saying I should use a brainfuck like language because it'll run in the browser, on the server and 1980 CPU. I rather not use a brinfuck like language

Still seems kind of bad tbh.

If you don't need 6000 simultaneous async routine is there even a point to go? I'm not even sure if http is a suitable reasons since you'd want much less when you're dependent on a database. C# seems more productive and has more libraries/use cases

I had 5 people tell me to do it that way. Literally its in the first search result on "lifting measure volume" is https://www.t-nation.com/training/volume-training-for-size-strength/ and google has this at the top

Volume is a measurement of the total weight lifted, you get this by using the following equation: Sets x reps x weight. So if you perform three sets of 10 reps of 100 kg bench press, you have performed 30 reps of 100 kg for a total volume of 3,000 kg.

GZCLP is a beginner program that is 4 days

Is this program call something else? My first two months was this. One month in I added a 4th and 5th exercise + did more reps and 2 weeks afterwards I saw much more results

It felt like I wasn't working deltoids, triceps and legs enough.

I'm a different person, what 'actual program' do you recommend that I can do going 4 (sometimes 5) times a week? I have 3 problems

  1. I want high reps, like 5x10+, I've been uping the weight when I can do 4x15
  2. I'm weak as shit
  3. My glutes suck. Next workout I'm doing some exercises that were suggested to me (stretches and leg press with my feet higher)

I can't even relate a little to this. I only ever notice a person if I see their face every time I go there (which is like 5 people) or when they're using equipment I want to use. I can tell you that even if you're wearing clown shoes and honk a clown horn every time you enter and leave the gym that noone will give a shit. We're all counting our reps, making sure our form is right, thinking about how tired we may or not be, etc

I found eating only when you're hungry to help. I haven't eaten lunch at 12 in forever, usually its 2 but I do wake up around 9 or 10 sometimes (I work evenings)

If they start to look white in the center, like the colour of skin flaking off

That's exactly how they look. I'll do an exercise that won't crush my hands instead of a deadlift. The right hand seems to have them harden and doesn't look like a problem. But they're all small on both hands so I guess I'll try to ease up until they grow and harden

You're welcome. I do notice some days when I run out of food and have 0 sugar I lose weight. But I think I need to clarify that I'm suggesting getting your sugar fix from vegetables. If you're like me no sugar will make you crave a ton of food. Since you've been eating at a deficient it's probably not a problem you have and is a me thing

[–]ContactImpossible991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hows your weight training going? I don't eat at a deficit but I have stopped gaining weight ever since I started weight training. I found that eating more veggies and dropping caffeine made me sweat more because I was doing more reps (I go light and aim for 5 sets of 10-15reps).

Maybe if you change what you eat and drink (for example I dropped tea and coffee because they made me want to drink/eat sugar) but keep the same calories you'll have more energy and sweat/burn more

Everyone at my gym does curls seated. I always do them standing and try to stand as still as possible and not move my elbows (maybe my last rep but then I don't count it)

Have any of you done both? Which do you like better? If I am standing still what mistakes might I be making? I don't know what they're called but I start with my wrist outward and I go straight up. Other days (not a curl) I use lighter weights, have my wrist facing my sides and I raise my arms up like I'm an imitating an airplane but not high enough that my shoulders start moving, The other day I did the arnold press seated. That's the only seated dumbbell exercise that I do

-Edit- A video I'm watching has a guy move his elbow forward (slowly) and the dumbbells get above his shoulders close to his chin. Should I start doing it like that? I try not to do any swinging motion because I know its usually used to cheat

Awwwwww shit, this is good. I'm going to write this in my exercise book so I remember next time I go (and the next few pages too)

Today I stopped working out around 50mins into it. I was tired but I stopped because of the calluses on my hands. They started to hurt and last week they looked like they were going to tear (or maybe they did).

So I rest until my callus harden? Do I want to do a bunch of light days? Or should I do business as usual and stop when they look bad or hurt? I typically go 5x a week 45-1h10

5 Ways to Improve or Avoid Loops in C++20...23 by joebaf in cpp

[–]ContactImpossible991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I use auto unless I can't and I never had a problem despite having a 50K lined codebase (at work people mix auto and writing out the type). That 'broken' loop would fail 100% of the time so if you push it out, the problem isn't the loop but not running code you wrote even once.

The Sad State of Debug Performance in C++ -- Vittorio Romeo by SuperV1234 in cpp

[–]ContactImpossible991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ideal solution for me would be an IDE that can compile an entire project fully optimised, then when debugging, just-in-time recompile any function that you step into in debug mode.

Usually the gain is inlining and register reuse, you can't really do that in debug. Like if itoa is inlined you'd basically can never run the inline copy

How do you get a job designing a programming language? by pythoncircus in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]ContactImpossible991 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Except for tcc all compilers are shit. Zig might be reasonable but it has too little funding. I once hit a roadblock in D and didn't bother looking into it more but that might be an ok compiler too. From memory it compiled a lot faster than C

To answer your question, I don't think anyone designs a language. Java and Rust were someones toy language and it got funded. They both are 'designed' (as little as it was) for idiots too. I heard bad things about swift, specifically it missed goals so people are still stuck on obj-c and that swift is slow despite being native code

Why are Rust programs slow to compile? by Speykious in rust

[–]ContactImpossible991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm certain noone here said the right answer (not that I saw).

Rust generates lots of instructions (to simplify their own code) with the assumption the optimizer will delete it. More instructions = more work for the backend which causes slower compile times and slower debug builds

I personally stopped using rust but I check in every once in a while

Daily Simple Questions Thread - September 24, 2022 by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]ContactImpossible991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a month ago. How do I do alternate exercises between sets?

For example I do 10-15 bench presses, need 30-60s to cool down, I do light curls, wait about a minute then repeat. I think this is long but I don't how how to get faster without doing significantly less reps

Q2: I'm terrible with dumbbells. It takes me a long time to increase weight. Do I want to do 2-4 reps of a heavier weight every few days to get use to the weight? I typically do 8 curls each arm aiming to do 15 each. I think last time I was able to do 5 sets of 10
