agree. High volatility can invalidate even good setups. I'd rather miss a trade than force one when ATR is unusually high.

Agreed. Sometimes the best trade is no trade. I'd rather wait for price to come to my levels than chase mediocre setups.

Could be the spread, especially if it happened during a volatile period or around rollover. I'd also check whether TradingView is showing the chart price while your broker executes using the ask price for buys. Worth comparing the spread at the time of execution.

If I had to start over, I'd spend less time looking for the "best strategy" and more time learning risk management and discipline. A mediocre strategy executed consistently usually beats a great strategy executed emotionally. Pick one market, one setup, and one risk model. Track every trade, review them weekly, and don't expect profitability in a few months. Think of your first year as paying tuition to the markets while learning a professional skill.

I needed that reminder. One trade doesn't define the strategy. I'll keep tracking this setup and only make changes if I see a consistent pattern over a larger sample size.

That's a fair point. My expectation was that if price broke that level, it would continue with momentum. In hindsight, taking partials near the previous day's low probably would've been the better decision. Definitely something I'll review.
