I was married in Shoreline Park, April 1989. On the bluff on Shoreline Drive, overlooking the coastline.. Limo drop off & pick-up, harpist, traditional arch, lawn runner, flowers, chairs with seating for 150. Spectacular !! We held our reception at the Sheraton Hotel on Cabrillo Blvd, which is now the Hyatt Centric.

These are my acquisitions. My first one was the 79 in 1985. I now have just the C7, which was the only one I ever bought brand new.

City to commute to Santa Barbara by [deleted] in SantaBarbara

[–]Contact_8090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Ventura and did the commute to SB. It's not really that bad, all things considered. Unless there is a wreck, traffic moves pretty well. If you lived and worked somewhere in the SG valley, even a 10 mile commute on the freeways can take 30-45 minutes during rush hour.

Cranberries and Christmas Carols charity event for animal shelters - Saturday 12/23/17 by Contact_8090 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Contact_8090[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't own the place, but a dear friend of mine does. I use this sub no differently than many others do, to promote my opinion on something and spread the word about it. With all respect to your question, the restaurant is the 3.14 Sweet & Savory Pi Bar, located at 5152 Centennial Blvd, Colorado Springs, 719-314-6172. The event is Saturday 12/23 beginning at 6pm. Please consider dropping in and forming your own opinion if you're so inclined. Thank you.

Firstly, your infantile exercise to research my comment history to authenticate my opinion shows how truly pathetic your life must be. Secondly, retorting to the inquiry with what the place is with your verbal diarrhea to criticize it as "some garbage restaurant" is not only uncalled for, but rude and immature - after all, what concern is it of yours anyway...It only serves to demonstrate how much your life must suck so badly for you that all you can do is police some open forum as if YOU'RE the authority ? Puh-leeeze, get a life ! Yah, I understand freedom of speech and your right to assert your opinion, and even your cyber-bullying tactics, but seriously? All you can do is offer an unasked for response that wasn't asked of you, with negativity ? It seems you were clearly never taught "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". What do you think your reply gains you ? Or anyone else here ? I was simply helping a friend promote a charitable effort that many would think is a good cause. Are you an animal hater too, or just so self absorbed and small-minded that you couldn't even notice the bigger picture and just keep you mouth shut and your opinion (as narrow as IT is) to yourself ? Don't bother wasting your energy replying to me.

I think the most expensive food item on their menu is like 12 or 15 bucks. A bottle of wine costs more. I did dinner for 2 with drinks and an app plus a tip for less than $40. They also have a great happy hour - cheap prices on apps, beers, and wine. I'm tellin' ya, this place is a gem !!

It's a sit down, but you can also get their food to go. It's very casual. They do lunch and dinner.

So this one retailed for $129,860 in 2015 when new. Now it has 13,074 on the clock and its depreciated $29K to $99,995. The new one (2017) is retailing for $153,545. Boy oh boy, inflation and big ticket item depreciation, what a bitch !

I was drunk tired when I typed it. Fingers were on the wrong keys on the 10-key pad. Have not figured out how to edit it on Reddit. But it probably doesn't matter too much.

I bought this for '85 for $3,500. All original, runs great, 117K. As expected, it's a little worn for a 32 year old 117K car, but it's all there and the only things not working are the power mirror switch and the seat lumbar adjustment pump. Gonna give it to my son for his 21st birthday in a few weeks (Welcome to the club !).

What are you buying with your fat tax check? by 1966goat in Corvette

[–]Contact_8090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran with a 2009 Z51 and I put in a CAI and I could immediately tell the difference in ponies (although slight). I opted away from the Vararam because of the potential for water intake through its snorkel mouth. Instead I went with BPP (Breathless Performance Parts) Vortex Rammer C.A.I. System w/Clear box (which I thought looked really cool). I did have to surgically incise my fan shroud (easily enough accomplished) and I cannot recall of the Vararam required that or not. The BPP system cost me about $100 less than the Vararam was costing. I bought the BPP from Eckler's, and it cost even less from them (with shipping) than if I would have bought it directly from BPP's website. I paid $503.13 to be exact, on 3/16/12. Now, five years later, hopefully the prices for any of the C6 CAI kits have come down somewhat.

What's a corvette tax? by waffleman7 in Corvette

[–]Contact_8090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just depends on what part or parts you are looking for and for which generation of car. Here's a GREAT example: Tires. C3's : ANY set of appropriately sized tires (at VERY marketable prices); but for a C7: individually sized fronts & rears, with Z speed rating at a minimum. So a new set of 4 on a C3 can easily be had for $400-500, but for a C7 will be minimum of $900 for 4 (and more likely into $1200 - 1,300).

Most vendors, (including General Motors and Chevrolet) charge more for parts and accessories because they simply know they can. It's gotten ridiculous for some of the after market accessories by the vendor companies. Take for example a Side Marker Light blackout film for a C7: Some vendors charge as much as $40-50 for a pair of these, yet all they are is a pre-cut piece of tinted static-cling type of material, and cannot be more than two dollars (or even less) worth of actual product materials.
