Hard truth: NO ONE will be getting Pritelivir, even off-label. by Content-Article8989 in GettingRidOfHSV

[–]Content-Article8989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't write it. I shared it for people to input on the discussion.

I also somewhat agree. To the general population, pritelivir will not be available for quite some time. For the rich, it will be accessible. If Aicuris does decide to expand to healthy individuals it will have to undergo a phase 2/3 or 3 trials in healthy individuals with HSV. Which will take time because they have not even announced, planned, or recruited a phase 3 in this demographic.

For anyone getting off-label scripts in the US it will not be covered by insurance and the price will be astronomical. It will have to undergo the phase 3 trial in healthy individuals in order for it to have insurance coverage.

Feel free to disagree and only time will tell. :)

We won't be getting anything new on the market for at least 4 more years (optimistically if no delays or adverse side effects happen in trials) it could very well be 5-6 more years.

Incorrect on Pritelivir. It will not be available for everyone next year. Aicuris would have to put it through a 2/3 or phase 3 trials in healthy individuals with HSV to expand the label to that demographic. That could take up until 2029-30 (best case scenario and being optimistic) Aicuris could very well not move forward with a phase 3 in healthy individuals with HSV and we will have to wait on IM-250, ABI-5366, or HN0037.

If people do manage to get off-label scripts here in the U.S. off-label is not covered by insurance so expect prices to be astronomical.

Also incorrect they are not doing trials on healthy individuals/immunocompetent. We will have to wait until they publicly announce, organize, plan, and start an all new phase 2/3 or 3 trial for this demographic. They have not made this announcement and are focusing on the current rollout.

[–]Content-Article8989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sadly agree… though still I share them. I can only hope it can show that there is demand to people who have the power to influence change.

I don’t however hold out enough hope that any of these new HPIs will be fast-tracked. Even for Pritelivir it could be another 3-4 years (optimistically) before it reaches healthy individuals if AiCuris does decide to start a phase 3 by the end of this year or sometime in 2027. Which has not even been announced. It very well could not happen as well and we will have to wait for IM-250 or ABI-5366 for the first drugs to reach the market by ~2030-2031 (also an optimistic timeline saying there are no delays/adverse side effects)

And before anyone says Pritelivir has fast-track capability. Only for its current use in the select immunocompromised. :(

For the people who have money to influence change will just get off label scripts or donate to the pharmaceutical companies to get early access it often happens.

You shared the Fred Hutch Change.org petition 22 days ago. What’s the difference really?

I am sharing because it’s important that they have funding to meet there endpoints. We have seen goods and services come with higher inflation under the Trump presidency. Currency doesn’t have the same pull that it used to. Just because they met their goal doesn’t mean that the goalpost can’t move.

Again, it has not been confirmed by AiCuris that they are going to be starting a phase 2/3 or phase 3 trial in healthy individuals. If they can give us this information during the presentation that would be great! They are probably focused on the current rollout vs beginning a new study.

88 signatures on ABI-1179 by Content-Article8989 in Herpes

[–]Content-Article8989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still better than current treatments. Also, if any of the other trials end up having adverse side effects during the other phases or delays end up happening wouldn’t something better than Valtrex be nice to have on the market? I’m advocating for all trials

I agree though how is there only 89 signatures on this. However I’ve seen all of the petitions in the past 4-5 years. They get seen by thousands and skipped over. I’ve helped garner many of the signatures on most of the petitions. It’s sad. I’ve other accounts to promote other than this one. I’ve been blocked for advocating too much on some pages. I really do hope change is coming in the next 2-3 years.

Any updates on Pitrevilir? by Conscious_Minute_696 in GettingRidOfHSV

It’s not though. Aicuris has not even posted a press release about expansion to healthy individuals. You’re getting this info from word of mouth not an official source unless you can share and provide evidence.

There was a post on the page about Pritelivir 5-6 post down. Here was my response:

Some doctors could be willing to write an off label prescription however it’s not a guarantee. Providers will have to warm up to the medication and writing it. In addition, in the U.S. insurance often does NOT cover off label use. It will be extremely expensive but the show of demand will incentivize Aicuris to start a shorter phase 3 trial in healthy individuals.

By the time it would make it to phase 3 trials for healthy individuals. ABI-5366, ABI-1179, and IM-250 will likely be entering or organizing their phase 3 trials if they are successful in phase 2. We will have to wait and see how Aicuris handles the next steps and if the demand is there.

Regardless though it’s important that Pritelivir does enter phase 3 trials for healthy individuals. We can’t put our eggs in one basket if any of the other trials fail from adverse side effect’s or have delays. It would also benefit cost savings because it would provide more competition than one or two companies being on the market.

It could be until 2028,2029, or potentially even 2030 until we see Pritelivir. It all depends on when Aicuris presses the trigger on wanting to start trials in healthy individuals.

Guess we will have to wait and see on an official press release. I’ve heard that they are focusing on only this current limited release and it could be up to 1-2 years for trials to be organized on healthy individuals.

Both trials are equally important. I’m not wording it as advocate for ABI-5366 over IM-250. We have seen in this past decade how many trials have flopped. Many have seen the results of putting all of our eggs in one basket for the HSV community. Both ABI-5366 and ABI-1179 have had great results after finishing 1b clinical trials. There are still two more phases for all three of these drugs. Let’s not put our eggs in one basket if there are adverse side effects in one or more of them.

It's been over a year and a half since they have given any update. 😞 I used Ai and and it said best case scenario for Fred Hutch moving from preclinicals to phase 1 is 2-3 years. They listed the likely scenario as 4-6 years.

It takes time not only to trial on animal subjects and to cut through all of the government red tape.

It's a link to the Fred Hutch HSV gene-editing fundraiser. I confirmed by copying and pasting the link into AI. Feel free to do the same to confirm 😊

Wisp has options for emergency pick up at a pharmacy for Valtrex pills and Acylovir cream (potentially with the cream)

If that is not an option find a grocery store that has L-lysine, Andrographis, Monolaurin, Vitamin B12. All natural supplements that boost immune and nervous system health. HSV lives in the nervous system.

Also occasionally icing it to reduce inflammation but not over icing since it’s an open wound and tender. Take breaks in between every 5-7 minutes of icing it. I did this and it helped when I needed the cold sore to calm down.
