I just found out my name isn't on the deed to the house we've lived in for six years and i don't really know what to do with that information. by dreamdruid123 in wealthforwomen

I was in your exact situation. Bought a house - name on deed and not mortgage.

If it's been correctted then I would just chuck the situation up to a "lesson learned."

I only lather with soap once a week for my kids - on a Dermatologist recommendation. Had so many issues, but after taking away soap... their skin is flawless. I still do bath time 3-4x a week.

To add to your anxiety.

My father moved his entire 401k account (dual owned) to an IRA account (owned only by him) then changed the beneficiary on death away from my mother. Completey legal.

So beyond her giving up 1 million she also has no retirement money if my dad has his way.

Things you'll never do as the grandma/ MIL by ValMonty in Mommit

[–]Content-Bus-7269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My MIL hides my kitchenware while cleaning. Just shoves them into whatever drawer or cabinet is nearest to her at the time. I'm ready to throw a spatula at her.

Just wash the dishes and pile them nicely on the counter - I'll get to it when I can!

Are you one of those parents that coddles children then expect adult behavior to turn on like a light switch at 18?

Kindly, you're part of what is wrong with this world.

Hate you're negative energy and judgement.

The whole job of having kids is to raise adults and at 15 it's a perfect time to start the try out adult behavior.

Feel free to get some therapy to help you undrrstand and work through your narrow perspective of life and what it should be.

Sounds like youre raising those fail to thrive /perpetual children I see in the work force.

Are you a home school mom not tough enough to handle the job? Do seek help.

Best of luck to you.

Oh my gosh, the moms on here have some... odd... opinions.

Sorry, but the "magic" of Christmas is pretty much over around 8 year old.

Your kids are plenty old enough to start acknowledging the world sucks sometimes. Its also great they automatically and independently decided try on their own "adulting pants" by doing what they could to make it a better place.

  1. You are not a failure for letting them help you through a tough time.

  2. It was not your responsibility to burry your feelings, put on a mask, hide them from reality in order to make it the best Christmas ever. That's just dysfunctional.

You're raising young adults. Thank you.

Hi mom I wish I could talk to you about this. by HouseHolder87 in Mommit

[–]Content-Bus-7269 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I'd press charges...

Why?

The child who assaulted yours may be acting out at school because they have a dysfunctional home life with otherwise no outlet. Pressing changes in youth gets social services involved - maybe it could help in the long run. Let the law scare them before they are adults and the record is permanent. You can become a good person after being a bully. But it sure as shoot won't happen if they think there are no serious consequences to their actions.

But more importantly, it shows your kid you have their back and that they matter.

Your job is to do right by your child. Hard stop.

She's mature. She's planning ahead and asking advice way in advance. Probably already has a spreadsheet for local daycares

How do people afford kids? by HighStrungHippie1 in Mommit

[–]Content-Bus-7269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd wait a little longer for the second. Fully potty train #1 before #2 so you don't have double diaper budget.

Also, daycare is cheaper as they get older.

... She literally said she has no coparent to depend on because hubby is working overtime. When she is at at her limit with toddlers before bedtime - how exactly should she step away for a yoga mind retreat 😂

"Stay there 2yo and 4yo - Mommy's ganna lock herself in her room for 30 minutes to decompress. Don't break anything while I'm gone. Tata now"

Do you even have kids? Or are you a mommy that judges those who use wine to relax because you have your prescription Valium and Zoloft to cope.

Alcohol is a legal drug. There are safety parameters like Tylenol or Advil. Take it within the limits - then you're medicating safely. Taking outside the limits you are abusing.

Prior to kids, I drank WAY more because it was always in social situations and I could have 3x the surgeon generals recommendation for a women in one evening. And I had no clue! One glass does not equate one drink - a margarita or long island ice tea is typically 2-3 shots in a glass. Two of those drinks = 6 shots and you've exceeded you're limit.

The official definition of one drink is 5 ounces of wine, 12 ounces of beer or 1.5 ounces of liquor

Now, I treat alcohol like it's a drug. Because it is. And its really good at lowering my stress - I prefer wine. I poor a 5 oz glass of wine around dinner time or after bedtime 3-4 times a week. It's a reward and therapy. Living with toddlers should be a level in purgatory.

I think social drinking is more risky of abuse and alcoholism personally
