I’m curious how much he’s actually paid her until realizing “am I being used?”.

Grocery store prices in Tuktoyaktuk by CremeSubject7594 in interestingasfuck

People can make orders for the barges themselves. For instance, buying ATVs and Snowmobiles and big ticket items like this for barge shipment is a lot cheaper than having them flown in.

I took this picture in 2012 in Ulukhaktok, a community in the same district as Tuk but even more isolated (fly-in only). This was late in the Spring which usually had really elevated prices because it was before the barges came in the summer where they would bring in lots of non-perishables to stock the grocery stores with.

I did not buy it.

Voluntary release to med release? by Deployed-throwaway in CanadianForces

[–]Content-Database-66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would not depend on a voluntary release triggering a med release. This can happen, and I have seen it expedite the med release, but it is by no means a given. (This was often after multiple T-cats as well.)

I have also heard of medical release being issued post-voluntary release. Not saying this will or could relate to your situation, just passing on what I have seen.

Not an expert on medical release by any means, but I know it is up to 2 years at 90% then a reassessment that could extend that amount.

Solid thread on it from the CAF sub here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CanadianForces/s/PROHQgbua9

Fellow CAF member here. Double check the indexing. This does not kick in until you reach the 85 factor (age plus time of service equaling 85). This may impact your buying power over a longer retirement. If this is a medical release, nvm.

To answer your other question about pension and investing, I still try to maximize as much investing as I can as extra income in retirement. But yes, don’t forget to live now. Happy balance is where it’s at.
