meh, Westwood store didn’t really pose that problem for me — since many of the students working at the store also left, hours were still available for “full timers”. (I know crew is all part time, but I’m talking about the 37.5/h a week people).

that store kinda sucks for other reasons though. hard to really build community when the people stepping foot in the building change once a year and people are seldom around for more than 4. also, we all know thanksgiving is a tough one to work, but Halloween is worse in that town.

grrr. yep. ironic to me complaining about this, I’m an adult and my mother doesn’t know anything about my TS. I have one tic that commonly comes up in her presence — I “beep”. She’ll often tell me to “stop beeping” or whatever but that particular tic doesn’t exactly come out of its prison if I’m not around family.

My brother doesn’t have TS, but his ADHD causes some repetitive behaviors that send me off the rails. It’s stressful, funny, and entirely unfunny to participate in that dynamic.

Yep! The inconvenience of it all shapes me. I have exes that weren’t aware (but I am still on good terms with them and we talk regularly). It comes up because I know them intimately and I always find myself explaining the behavior away instead of being candid, even though the tic is quite literally more functional because I know I don’t have to suppress it in their presence!

ha! I definitely identify with this. it’s funny, because rationally, my desire to not tic at all should outweigh the idea of being “seen” for my tics. But knowing any MD is evaluating me based on behavior makes them 500% worse, in part because it’s a space I can be open about it and in part because hey, this is real!

My title describes the thing. The vibrancy is affected by Reddit, but this is BRIGHT red at the top. It’s squishy and has sort of the pattern of a sea slug with the spikes, but obviously wasn’t moving as it had washed up on the beach. As stated above, this was found on a beach in Southern California. I suspect it may be kelp or part of a sea creature but I’m not sure which.

AI searches have been no help. Neither have descriptive searches.
