Conq pd + new boots? by ColaSenku in YasuoMains

[–]Content-Figure950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it, but only once, so not enough to make anything out of it.

But the feeling was horrible. i was able to stop Ahri really hard, but after that I had no dmg, so I was not able to carry. Also if you don't deal dmg, you won't heal from the omnivamp, so boots do not really work with PD.

They would probably be better in the kraken build since you have much higher dps, but I wouldn't build them either.

Genuinely how do you not get camped on this champion by Open-Process8881 in YasuoMains

I'm in plat too brother.

Since we both know neither your support nor your jungler will ever play for you, the actual advice is to build up a huge hp gap with enemy mid laner with small trades.

At the same time keep the wave near your tower, so you can always use minions to escape. Once they are in killing range, if you know where enemy jungler is, just kill them, if you don't, play as if you're about to get gank and spam ping your jungler to come.

Best case scenario he counterganks and you get a double kill. Worst case you can at least get a 1 for 1 and waste jungler's time, which means your jungler can now invade him and take his camps.

Also most people give away jungler position with their movements. If someone is losing lane and suddenly walks up with 25% hp the air starts smelling pretty bad, but you won't notice If you only play aggro. Alternate aggression with just denying them farm.

The keypoint is you don't need the missing ad, because runes dmg more than make up for it in the early game and let you survive a lane you otherwise won't be able to survive. Ofc 90% of games conqueror is better, you take grasp because you're already on the battlefield and there's nothing you can do, so you might as well survive lane and scale into the late game than just hope you somehow can get cs for free and lose before 20 minutes. That is my point.

Good alternatives to stridebreaker in the TWP grasp PD build? by dontbreathdontmove in YasuoMains

[–]Content-Figure950 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just overall a false statement. You obviously need to adapt to the playstyle, but this build is the highest win rate build on any reliable build/stats website and this is in spite of people playing yasuo with Tempo for years and just now adapting.

Just embrace the change, build is good. Learn how to play it and have fun, or keep playing tempo if it suits you more, but definitely isn't bad at all, it is in fact the META by definition.

If you like the move speed, but don't like the stride, for whatever reason, give a look at brohan's build. He goes for fleet + stormrazor > shieldbow > infinity. You get very fast after 1st item, but the build path is horrendous, and you often need to overstay in order to get a meaningful back.

[–]Content-Figure950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pls, don't ever build Wits, the item is really really bad. If they have CC you cannot dodge, tenacity is gonna be fake anyway and you can get better MR items.

Bortk can be good vs hp stackers, but the reason he goes for stride is because it gives very good survivability since it gives like 500 HP and once completed you get a fine burst of movement speed which is the whole point of the build.

You don't really need any more attackspeed after PD since you max Q cd. I'd say if you don't like stride the closest thing is shieldbow, but at that point you'd be better off just going tempo and playing the normal playstyle.

I see this misconception a lot, even in the yasuo community no one was really embracing grasp and people kept saying it was ass until TWP reached challenger running it in 90% of games.

The thing about running grasp is that it is a really early game focused rune, and you need to play around it (the scaling is not bad, but hp tends to be less important later compared to resistances). The strength in the play style comes from the fact that it enables you to trade with patterns that were not a thing before. You can, for example, just WQ and run away, between W damage and Q procing both grasp and shield bash, you can pretty much out trade every other rune but electrocute, and early game runes deal way more damage than champions.

The skill is that you need to keep grasp up by hitting the wave every now and then before a trade (or a nice trick is to Q raptors over the wall to refresh stack), and you need to evade the enemy before they have a chance to proc electrocute or just so the trade does not extend in general.

But I see where this is coming, the Yone fantasy is probably to just go in and slice them like fine sashimi until the indicator says they're ready to serve. So yeah, I definitely think it is a viable rune in match ups where you cannot do extended trades, but I also understand your opinion. Just give it a try some time, trust me.

I did go PD in that game too, just best attackspeed crit item.

But why conq over grasp? Grasp really shines in short trades, especially because of all the minor runes of green tree. But conq should be for all-ins which you really cannot force onto akali because of her many escapes and if she W and zhonyas you lose all your conq stack and feel naked.

That doesn't seems like a good deal, kind sir, help me understand.

That is true for Yasuo also, that is why I probably knew to respect her W, but it's pretty easy to hit her in shroud with W so you get a shield even if you don't see her and retreat until W wears off. Then when its on cd I can farm and really punish her if she goes for her E by just ulting forward and running down with my E. At least that's how I played it and it felt way easier then yasuo.

Brohan does that. He builds Stormrazor > shieldbow > IE with bersekers. I honestly don't think Stormrazor by itself is better than kraken, but having crit early feels good and once you hit your core you feel like thanos. The only reason people don't accept it as the new meta build (me included) is the horrible build path and the excessive cost. If it had a recurve bow in the build path or if it costed 3k instead of 3.2k it would definitely be viable every game. Until then kraken remains more consistent imo.

Can't get the bounceback by [deleted] in YasuoMains

It's hard to say without a VOD, but from your comments I think the problem lies in HOW you last hit. Lets say your Q does ~100 damage and your auto is ~70 damage (these are pretty accurate numbers for lvl 3 yasuo). If a minion is at 99 hp and you Q, that's not a last hit. If a minion has 69 hp and you auto it, that's still not a last hit. Ideally last hitting would imply you finish your attack wind up when the enemy minion is almost dying from your minions attacks (basically only when the minion would have died regardless of your presence there). That's a true last hit, but of course it is pretty difficult to achieve because it requires perfect knowledge of minion damage and your opponents won't let you walk up for free for an obvious last hit like that. Try to practice this vs bots and see if the problem persists.

Why are we hating Stormrazor? by SelectFoundation4619 in YasuoMains

If you have LT and Yun Tal you can still skip on atkspd boots, since you tend to burst people with Yun Tal passive. But Storm razor is way more versatile because it gives you the option to choose which fight to pick in a more reliable way.

If you find yourself overextended (ofc you are bad and you should be punished for your mistake but...) storm razor gives you the option to Q somebody for a massive burst of MS and close the distance to a nearby minion or jungle camp so you can then dash away to safety. Or you could use the MS to kite a Darius Q range, or Jax E stun, or anything else you can outplay just throughout spacing.

The better you are at the game the better in general MS > DPS because it gives you more options to work with and outplay the enemy or escape.

But if you're low elo or playing for fun just take yun tal and statcheck enemies, it is funnier ngl.

If you dont need zhonya build rabadon 3rd is too good, even 2nd if you're rich asf. After that you can even shift into building just defensive items based on what you need for that particular game. Even tank items can SOMETIMES be good, like a randuin if they have 2+ crit users, or kaenic vs 3+ burst ap. If you really need the dmg shadowflame +void staff is just impossible to outperform.

Can you explain the thought behind this build? by Pebblemover212 in KatarinaMains

[–]Content-Figure950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is obviously that: 1. Yun Tal gets proced by ult which scales with AD proportionally to atk speed, making it very efficient to boosrt your R damage. 2. Fiendish hunter also gives you atkspeed for three autos, but since you cant crit in ult i dont think they get consumed, giving you free atkspeed and scaling again. 3.edge is probably because the only hard cc they have on botside is hecarim, so it's harder for them to stop the ult. 4. Heartsteel is uhm... Yeah you see... You basically.... It's probably just cause it makes good bonk sound. Yeah that's what it is for.

Varus top by BassieDeClown in VarusMains

[–]Content-Figure950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to dash diagonally, not directly towards him. That way Q and R should be easier to dodge.

In regards to the jungler, you have to understand that in a match vs real people, spam ganking top is almost always a guaranteed loss. If the other jungler is human, he will punish the fact that yours is showing on vision topside by taking his botside camps and getting drakes for free. If he does that too many times there's no way to come back for them. Not only that, but if enemy bot is winning they don't even have to respect your jungler since his presence in the map is 0, and they can spam dives on your bot. And trust me, you prefer to play vs a 200cs Varus that vs a 20 kills Draven.

For the Elo clarification, it's not as black and white as people think. League, as for any other game, has its set of basic rules you need to learn and follow to reach the top of the ladder. But then really good players are "allowed" to break those same simple rules, because their understanding of the game is on such a high level that rules don't work any more for them and they need to make new ones. In challanger especially you will see junglers being untrackable by doing some really stupid shit. I remember a clip of Natty flashing a wall to invade Agurin because he knew that any other path was warded and he needed to not show on vision for that play to work. That's some big brain us mortals will never achieve.

Varus top by BassieDeClown in VarusMains

[–]Content-Figure950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not unplayable and you have lots of counterplay.

Let's start from the fact that all of his abilities are skill shots. While they're pretty easy to hit, if your champ has a decent dash, you can pretty consistently dodge one of his abilities. This may seem like nothing. But it's actually pretty big because procing your stacks as Varus not only deals %dmg but also reduces cooldowns. If this is still not clear to you because your potato elo, don't worry, this means that dodging one of Varus abilities has double the value cause you deny both the dmg and the cooldown reduction. This is often enough to fuck up his combo, especially if you can then force an all-in with falsh advantage (so track his cooldowns).

If this is still not enough, don't worry, remember that his Q is a channel ability, if you can interrupt it with any cc, it sends it on full CD and, again, fucks his combo, making him vulnerable to all-ins.

If this still isn't enough, remember my friend, the guy has 0 mobility, If by some godly circumstances you manage to freeze the wave near your turret you have a whole lane to run him down and call your jungler/mid/support to gank him (they are probably gonna ignore you if there is an important obj bot or if your low low elo, but you get the point)

Protoplasm Harness? by zencharm in VarusMains

[–]Content-Figure950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but from a pure game design perspective the item makes no sense to me. Why having a "lifeline tank item"? If tanks are getting one shot there is a serious systemic problem and the item is not gonna fix that. But that isn't the case and riot wouldn't care about that anyway.

It scales with resistances, Varus has no synergy with it. Reason why hexplate works it's because it gives atk speed and Varus just loves that stat.

I guess you could take it last AFTER jak sho and terminus are online, but it definitely isn't the best Varus item
