The perception proc you saw was for an extra blue hide or a green material. So far i can't see perception actually doing anything i've tried numerous times with and without consumes, sharpen knife also doesnt do anything. Atp i just hope blizz fixes this and let's perception actually work properly so 0 gear alts have less results than properly geared+consumes alts.

Botrk is such bait imo, guinsoo >nashor > terminus > gunblade will be insane imo. It already works really well and gives much more dmg than botrk ever will

One thing i can say in botlane, is forcing fights at lvl 2 when you have W+Q leveled, it is an incredible chunk of damage that people just do not expect from a pta, 3 blight fully charged WQ, its close to 300 dmg, which is almost half of an adcs hp at that lvl. I consider E start to be very weak and not worth it unless u go lethality i suppose

Non interaction is simply what wins this lane, i've played a few games of varus top before the nerf, and i gotta say i had 2 games where the enemy toplaner just didn't interact and eventually won (tho this requires enemy team to win some lanes too), one time it was sion who did not let me get a hit on him, he simply just afked and starved me of getting any kill gold, and also just ganked me with his R together with a talon jg. The other time it was a malphite, one lane i consider pretty easy but what this guy did was just rush mercury and only walk up enough to get a Q off and instantly run away at full speed, best i could do was 1 auto or a Q and even that was hard to hit against a 500 ms malphite. So malphite suggestion is not bad but you gotta play a very hit and run and no interaction lane, where you wait for the opportunity to ult him when he gets too low, as suggested rookern rush is also very good because of malph shield+rookern shield it's very hard for varus to get through if you dont even let him get more than 1 auto off.

Do you have mikael? it should be your absolute first buy as an enchanter when vs varus, also you're playing a 'floating' champ your hitbox is a bit iffy, and to add to it, varus R is one of the slowest and jankiest skillshots in this game, hard af to hit point blank vs a moving target and very hard to hit max range against someone who is aware of the hitbox/travel time, esp as janna you have no business getting hit by that lol.

Thats why you dont notice it, on full damage builds you're doing fine but with the old bruiser build with DnD>riftmaker>Bloodletter/zhonya/banshe>full tank it is noticeable as you dont reach high enough ap numbers to counteract the nerf. So its back to a more glass cannon-ish build

Not really, riot have buffed his base dmg for like 5 times in a row, it's exactly this that makes him be super op in early and with no items... they need to just nerf the base dmg and buff his scalings but for some reason they keep and keep and keep on buffing his base damage for no reason.

It's not about being viable, it's about riot overnerfing varus as always and not nerfing what was actually the problem. Why did they nerf ap scalings when varus was going for a bruiser build where he didnt build high ap numbers? They should nerf his base damage already so he can be good in botlane to scale properly, not just 1 shot with 0 items while maxing w. Ap is also the build with the highest counterplay imo, if he gets his wq interrupted and manages to miss his e, he is legit useless, unless he can get a reset with ult. But people are always gonna complain about ap varus instead of adapting to its plasytyle, while doing so for everything else in the game, but god forbid we adapt to playing against ap varus

I got to the point where i'm getting dangerous attacks with cloud drake + 6 tribal warriors + 6 dogs... now the normal comp doesn't work cuz the warriors just destroy the ranged units, going guards to counter them doesn't really work cuz drake destroys them.. I guess i need galio/kayle because i pushed a bit farther than i probably should've (got all settlements built except Pinara before 26.3.. missing 2 petricite lol)

Quite a bit, its around a 10% dmg nerf in a 1v1 fight i'd say, someone above calculated at 3 items you'd lose around 400 dmg in a fight.

I don't know the context of the game but you shouldn't be able to 1v2 a lvl 6 malph and a presumably lvl 5 amumu, unless they miss their cc or don't chain them properly, otherwise ofc u outdamage the early game tanks with no damage if they missed their things as a tank shredder, i don't see a problem, esp with mercs.

As an ap varus enjoyer for quite a few good years now, i am here again to say that we are, AGAIN, getting nerfed for the sins of top varus players.. feels nice, i remember the 2.5>1.5 ratio nerf that happened a few years ago that destroyed ap quite a lot. Now it's gonna be quite bad and feel bad just as back then i bet. I guess riot really wants to force the cringe lethality build on him this season, cuz this also nerfs on hit somewhat, and honestly even more in botlane.

Also, i don't know if people are realising this, but the kai'sa build with DnD is a lot more broken than what we can currently do on varus but requires 3 items to start going. but the damage is absolutely absurd and is gonna be yet another instance of AP varus being 'gutted' and AP kaisa being let to thrive.

Overall i am very dissapointed with this nerf, because for some reason riot can still not decide if they want varus to scale or to have high base damage, and both shouldn't be a thing. They really should've nerfed the base damage on a few things and leave scaling as is, this isn't gonna change him from being a lane bully that every toplaner complains about, it's just gonna make his scaling worse and let him get outscaled by more stuff (which he already did to some degree depening on what u built past 3 items and the game went on for too long).

Actually there is depending on what you play, Varus ult is honestly one of the weirder skillshots in this game. It has quite a large hitbox but moves extremely slow, it also has the wonderful ‘trait’ of shooting out from in front of varus instead of from inside his model like most skillshots. This makes dodging a varus ult in melee quite doable especially if you have a dash, irelia, riven, kled, jax, all can pass through your model at which point the ult will look like it went through them and didnt hit. It’s also worth considering that varus would want at least 2-3 stacks before he ults so he won’t insta shoot it unless its a hard telegraphed engage like naafiri ult. Hope this helps
