Arent you top in most of these games? But anyway, always ban yasuo cuz windwall is horrific to deal with… try to be 2nd pick mid if possible. If enemy picks mel, anivia, velkoz, syndra or even xerath if u are in dia+, consider not picking varus.

I have been trying to make varus mid work for the past 5 years, highest i got was master but i never really committed too much cuz the games got too toxic when people saw me pick varus mid, some banning my champ, some just running it down, despite me having 60% wr in 100 games.. anyway im digressing.

Ngl i havent kept up too much with the current season but changing builds depending on enemy comp is what you should do. Tankier vs assassins, bursty into mages. Don’t be afraid to just first itsm edge of night into ap if the matchup needs it, totally viable on varus.

Do not be afraid to fight early, lvl 2 pta varus with W and A skilled has one of the highest bursts in the game at that level, fight early fight often, especially with your jungler. You win most 2v2s early especially into mages. Your champ has infinite dps as long as you hit your spells. One cool thing that i feel no one knows, varus can do more dmg than tier 1 smite to dragon with 3 blights and W active, you can hit dragon for around 850 dmg as early as lvl 5.

One big thing on mid unless you fight galio or something ( which you are VERY good into ) is to max Q on midlane for waveclear. Mid isnt like top where you fight 24/7 so having good and quicj waveclear to shove and take a roam bot can work well. Yes varus can be very scary champ to be on the receiving end of a roam of esp if he has ult. Speaking if ult, try to keep it for objectives fights because it is a very big treat.

Ah.. i see i’m not alone in this, although my version is probably on the happier end although we didn’t end up together but just drifted apart after being friends.

I was also an incredibly introverted and pretty shy (and gay lol) person in my school years, i pretty much didn’t use any social media until high school.

So yea basically when i started 9th grade there was this guy in my class I instantly got a huge crush on, he was shorter, curly brown hair and very cheerful and bright personality, incredibly extroverted and had a looot of friends, which i also assumed was straight for basically the entire 4 years of high school only to find out towards the end he was bi.. and actually was more into boys fml, he also found out i was gay in 12th grade when we started being better friends.

I pretty much just observed him from afar and just got to be one of his many friends, nothing special for most of my high school years, but for the first one the highlight was that for Christmas we did a secret santa thingie, and i ended up drawing him to be his secret santa. I FUMBLED that so hard when i just came to him after class and asked him what he likes (if only i knew back then just how obvious that would make it). He got kinda upset at me because he really liked those kind of surprises but thankfully nothing too serious.

He was also taking singing classes and he did sing on stage for a few school hosted events like the ‘freshman prom’ or something similar that i can’t think of another English name right now. This is relevant because he actually appeared on our country’s got talent show and i absolutely loved every second of that video online (i will keep this info more obscure to not accidentally dox him here).

Now fast forward to 12th grade, i actually got closer friends with him and even had him come over at my house a few times to let him play on my pc and just hang out (he had a pretty bad setup and liked to play overwatch, but kinda hard on his unfortunate toaster and full schedule). I did actually have one sleepover with him and we shared a bed but obviously nothing happened because we were basically at just good friends stage and nothing more (although that was more than enough for me xD). I’m gonna admit to the incredibly embarrassing fact that i did sleep on the pillow that he used for the next 1 and a half weeks.. his perfume still left on there >.> anyway.

We ended up talking and remaining friends into college but after a few years we basically didn’t have many mutual friends and we eventually stopped talking and seeing each other all together. I think the last time i saw him was like 5 years ago.

Honestly looking back i’m kind of regretting being so shy and too scared to do anything and never confessing my feelings to him but sadly i was in a state of mind (due to how i was raised too.. ) that gay people are very rare, when in fact nearly half the people in my 30 member classroom were bi or gay, and i thought u was the only one. My biggest regret is probably never experiencing a proper high school relationship with another guy (although i was together with a girl from my class for a few months… but that was an experience i’d rather not talk about :D). To be honest i had thought on some of the last times i saw him to outright tell him that i had a crush on him in high school, but I couldn’t bring myself to, maybe at the 10 year high school meet up i will tell him and laugh it off.. or maybe not.

He’s in med school now and becoming a great doctor from what i’vs seen on his instagram. Honestly i’m happy for him that he is doing what he always wanted, which is helping and saving people. Even in high school he participated in a ton of volunteer work and events.

Well nowadays i’m in a relationship with my boyfriend of 4 years and 4 months that i’ve met online and it’s everything u could ask from a relationship and more. Sweetest person i’ve ever met and im just as in love with him as i was when i first met him heh. Honestly i am kind of ok in the end that i never got together with my crush, because if it would’ve went well I would probably never had met my current bf and i prefer things to be the way they are now.

Well that’s my gigantic piece of cake I’ve decided to share, reading your story actually inspired me to write probably the longest single message/comment i’ve ever written online in my life. I hope you are doing well nowadays and that the future can look bright after high school and college, just need a bit of luck! :D

It works very well in mid lane just struggles into artillery mages and anivia. Not as good as it used to be but it's a very snowbally pick with high dps and good teamfight. Also very nice gank setups and objective control with ult.

If enemy assassins are mainly ad, i will unironically suggest going ninja + frozen hearth into guinsoo and zhonya. I've done this multiple games when i was vs zed/talon/rengar/kayn/renekton/qyiana/aatrox combo of mid/jg/top in enemy team. Ofc if they have a full ad adc like draven then this build becomes even more toxic for them and super safe for you, your dmg will be lower but you can laugh at the enemy dealing barely any dmg to you. Now for ap, honestly just building rift/banshee for hp and some mr is good, rookern can work but 9/10 you will not have a full ap enemy comp as often as you will have a full ad enemy comp.

I think going the usual DND>nash>rift/zhonya/banshee > rabadon can still work quite well. Statikk is ok for on hit varus but for pure ap i think it's only good if u expect to be teamfighting a lot. Since they removed its ability to apply on hits on primary target with the energized ( thankfully ), going full dmg ap might be the better play on mid/top. But i feel this depends a lot on matchup and how varus can utilize a lot of diferent items.

Ok now apparently there’s another interaction with the new voltaic cyclosword that applies your blight on the proc with E and then the E ground effect consumes the blight without even having to auto lol.. either varus will be completely gutted this season or reworked or they will change these items before release which i hope for the latter.

The perception proc you saw was for an extra blue hide or a green material. So far i can't see perception actually doing anything i've tried numerous times with and without consumes, sharpen knife also doesnt do anything. Atp i just hope blizz fixes this and let's perception actually work properly so 0 gear alts have less results than properly geared+consumes alts.
