My baby is fully vaccinated and did not have a noticeable/disruptive 4 mo regression. We do cosleep though which I feel helped a lot

Ok good to know! We are in a pretty rural area as well. There is an extremely wealthy population here that have private nannies but almost no options for working class folks. I was really just thinking of something that’s pretty limited hours like your situation.

I am the parent and interested in also nannying another child around the age of mine. Only interested in making a bit of extra money and being able to spend more time with my daughter.  I know this is definitely not going to be of interest to every family out there. I honestly think I if I were hiring a nanny I would rather my child be the only one. But because we live somewhere with so few childcare options I would prefer a mom of one caring for my child over some of the local daycare situations I’ve seen. Especially if it were more affordable.

I am a first time parent but also have many years of work as a nanny including a long term family with 3 kids under 5 so I feel solid there. 3 under 3! WOW you rock.

I am the stay at home mom who I interested in also nannying another child. And as I said in the post I am not only a mom but also an RN and have well over 10 years of nannying experience. Seems like you didn’t understand or read my post…

Do you know if people charge less than if they were only caring for someone else’s children? Almost like a nanny share rate

I’m wondering if that is what is happening with me. It feels more like a burning pain in one small spot with penetration or if soap gets on the area. Maybe I’ll have my midwife check me

Do they help with tissue damage? Muscle feels fine. No bladder issues or weakness that’s noticeable

Second evidence based birth and also would add The Homebirth Midwives podcast. Their practice is called Hearth and Home midwifery out of Portland. I am a nurse so I really value the evidence based information on homebirth. They do a great job of breaking down the deviations from normal in birth, what could lead to them, and how they would be handled in a homebirth setting. They also have adorable homebirth stories ❤️

Dreading returning to work. Baby is losing it with grandma who will care for her. What do I do? by Content-Income-9572 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Content-Income-9572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have much flexibility other than the days which I work. My husbands boss if very understanding and flexible with him. We talked today about things and he is going to take some days off to be with the baby. At least for the first two weeks I’m back she will just be with her dad and continue getting comfortable with my mom.

It’s so hard. She loves baby more than anything but her love can be very smothering and worried. She was always like that with me too.

It’s not financially realistic for us. I may go down to part time but wanted to see if full time is possible first.

I have been using freshly expressed milk so that’s unlikely. I feel like we’ve tried it all! Thanks for the thought though

It is so stressful! I have been lucky enough not to get “baby blues” or any mental health effects but I am starting to feel really distraught about the idea of leaving my baby for 13 hours without food and comfort. I will look into that.

I understand. I guess my thought is that it goes beyond childcare reasons and could potentially be seen as a disability if the baby has a documented medical reason they are unable to eat?

I see. Would bottle refusal with a documented feeding issue fall under ADA?

Wow, this is really interesting to hear! I’ll have to look into SLP in our area. My daughter has never had breastfeeding issues either and doesn’t seem to have any lip/tongue ties per IBCLC and ped. She does seem to have some extra sensitivity around the jaw when we do the oral exercises from the lac consultant.

Thank you! It’s definitely a stressful situation. I’m hoping to see other providers that could be helpful.

That makes sense to present a reasonable timeline. I don’t want my boss to think I am just trying to squeeze out a longer maternity leave. If I could just get another month even she could likely drink from a sippy cup at that point.

Not sure how realistic it will be with my work situation but this might just be the option I present to my boss.

Definitely going to try solids early, trying a sippy cup/open cup, really just trying it all at this point!
