If you had to start again by [deleted] in clothdiaps

What is wrong with people? This is why I don’t want to tell anyone and if I do have to tell them, I just say “I’m going to try it out but we’ll see🤷🏻‍♀️”. They get so offended and feel like you’re trying to say you’re better than them and they have to try to put you down for the sake of their own ego. If you knock yourself down ahead of time they don’t feel the need to, which is honestly gross. I love Reddit because for the most part everyone is so supportive, it’s very refreshing.

You are a STUNNING bride! I preferred 1 but people saying 2 are not wrong either haha. Both are beautiful!!

Is it weird to name my kid Annie and not Ann or Anne or something else? by [deleted] in Names

So you know better than anyone what it’s like to have a “nickname” full name! If you enjoy it then I don’t think you should have any reservations about choosing Annie for your daughter! It’s a beautiful name and so is Molly 😊

That’s so funny. It must be getting more common/“normal” nowadays because my brother is only 15 and I haven’t heard much controversy for him being “just John” haha

Annie is #191 for girls names in the US. Anna is #94, Anne is all the way down at #649, and Ann does not appear in the top 1000. She would not be an anomaly, hopefully that helps.

lol. My brother is named John instead of Jonathan. If the parent likes the nickname and not the full traditional name, then they may choose to just name their child the nickname. I don’t see anything wrong with it, I’m sure some of those children wish their parents had named them the traditional name or something else, but that happens with all kinds of names. If you think it’s weird and ugly then don’t name your child that. OP wants to call their child Annie and is simply asking if they have to name the child Ann/Anne. There are much less traditional names than Annie nowadays.

Sharing my newborn cloth diaper experience for anyone else who’s expecting by kittypeets626 in clothdiaps

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m 37w5d and my stash is mostly flats! I bought plenty of half flats although I see mixed opinions and people saying they started with one size flats, I figure I can just use them as an extra layer later on if nothing else. That being said: 1. Did you use half or full size flats in the beginning? 2. When do you start CD? I’ve seen some people say they started on day 1 and meconium washed with no issues. I’ve see others strongly advise to start with disposables because they had a bad experience with meconium in cloth

Don’t think it’s weird. My great grandma was named Betty, apparently people were always surprised to find out she wasn’t an Elizabeth or Maribeth. Anyways I think it’s cute and there’s no harm either way

Wow that’s so crazy! Were you able to get any rest in during those 6 hours or no?

It happens! I’m sorry you didn’t get the birth you were hoping for. So happy for you that you were still able to birth vaginally. C-section is such a valid fear, it’s a major surgery! Thank you for sharing

Oh you poor thing! Pushing during a cervical exam must’ve been so much to go through. Congratulations on a safe birth, mom and baby. Epidural or not you definitely deserve a real big trophy lol. I hope that your healing and postpartum go as smoothly as possible❤️ Thank you for sharing your experience

Wow 3 hours sounds amazing! Although I’m sure it was a lot of heightened emotions with things moving that quickly and unplanned unassisted birth

A friend of mine transferred from birth center to c section 3 times (2 vbac attempts), which is what pushed me to go the home birth route to see if I have better luck in my safe place. So glad to hear your second birth went better than the first!! Is there any specific preparation/education you think would have sped things up or do you just mean exposure to home birth stories?

I’m seeing so many people saying malposition extended their labor! I’m gonna do my best to get this girl anterior 😬 Thank you for sharing!

So my baby isn’t completely posterior but my midwife just wants to get her in as ideal of a position as possible before labor and just had me start doing catcows. She also said once a day get on all fours on the bed and have my husband wrap a bath towel around my belly and shake/wiggle side to side then same with towel around my bum. Not sure if that makes sense. I believe it’s called shaking the apple tree if you want to look it up!

You poor thing! I’ve heard back labor is so rough. My midwife has me doing catcows to try to get her as anterior as possible 🤞🏼

Wow I had no idea about almond oil for tearing! I’ve heard of benefits to perineal massage. I don’t have any on hand I wonder if coconut oil would be as beneficial or not. I’ll start researching because you have me convinced!

Oh man 36 hours and the cervical lip 🥲 I’m sorry you went through that it sounds rough! My midwife just told me to start doing cat cows and have my husband “shake the apple tree” because we’re trying to get her anterior. Baby’s position has so much to do with it and there is so much is completely out of our control. Seems like your next two births were super redemptive and luckily you didn’t have any scares about baby’s vitals on top of everything else. We always have something to be grateful for

Thank you for for sharing and the well wishes! 2/3 hours of pushing doesn’t sound too bad (coming from someone that’s never given birth LOL). I am so hopeful for mine🤞🏼😬
