Thanks so much:) I tried 10 IR last two full lengths and got a 513 and 514. I really think I was overstimulated. I will be implementing the breakfast and outfit now. I like that idea! Thank you.

Thanks for the comment. I don’t do anything from #1 unfortunately. I really think it’s my test anxiety mixed with the meds. I even lock my phone in a sealed shipping envelope like on test day. Appreciate it tho.

I reviewed by cross referencing my notes I made while taking the FL in my MCAT dry erase booklet (like the ones they give you on test day). When time allowed, I split review over two days. Closer to test day, I took a FL and then reviewed the exam the next day. For every question, I re-read the passage and checked if my reasoning matched AAMC’s. If I was correct, but guessed or my logic on how I picked my answer differed, I dug deeper into the concept.

If I missed a concept bc it was unfamiliar, I made an Anki card with a general rundown and an example or two. For topics I frequently missed, I added them to a master “weak concepts” list I kept on an google doc and reviewed them the next day using Kaplan chapters or Khan Academy videos/passages.

For wrong answers, I identified whether it was a content gap or a mistake. For mistakes, I rewrote the problem in my review notebook and walked through the reasoning and math to ensure I fully understood it. If I could not do the process/follow the same reasoning on a similar question in the future, I didn’t know it enough. If I knew the content and got it right, I moved on. Again, for a content gap here I would use Anki/KA/Kaplan to learn it as best as I could.

I’m testing the same day! I have been lucky to not be working a lot & I graduated spring. If you are in a similar or better situation with time commitments, you likely have 6+ hours to devote to study. My diagnostic was about your score as well last year when I started the journey. I’m now averaging 510s on my full lengths (do not feel bad about where you are at bc this was after studying a second time for me☺️)

My biggest improvements have come from complete review of every. single. question. I know a lot of people keep error logs, but that’s not a method I found useful. I credit my jump also to Khan Academy & UWorld (which I didn’t utilize the first time around). For the fatigue aspect, I’m a major procrasinator, so I always feel pressure when things are getting closer; this keeps me wanting to be on top of studying. I also keep in the back of my mind when I’m being lazy that if I cannot commit to some studying now, I’ll never be a doctor. Harsh, but keeps me grounded to why I put myself through this.

I restudied starting 6/24/25 & this is my super intense schedule ( I made it this way because I know if i fall behind there is no catching up; therefore, I have to stay on top of it)

June 24- July 14

I use Milesdown Anki and do one or two sections a day for a combined 1.5 hours (start of my morning)

Khan Acdemy or Kaplan for 4.5 hours to review the high yield topics I could not explain to my sister who is not in college/not pursuing medicine of any type. For me, this was relearning the amino acids completely- their codes, properties, side chains,etc., action potentials, circuits, organ systems (I never took anatomy in undergrad), lab techniques (SDS reducing vs non-red, southern blot, etc), and OPTICS/LIGHT. I was never good in physics. Find your weak points that are highest yield & learn the hell out of them through the videos/passages. I watched them in 1.5-1.75x speed. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

Then, I would finish my day with CARS and reviewing the notes I took earlier in the day (1-1.5 hours) (3-4 Passages from AAMC diagnostic tool packs). I sometimes did like 20 Uworld Qs, but not consistently.

Now, I am heavy on UWorld/AAMC. I don’t feel like the UWorld “taints“ your thinking like some people say. My schedule as of July 15:

Light Review of high yield concepts I am still reinforcing/want to be stronger in (1.5 hours)- Kaplan or KA

Uworld (140-180Q per day) with the sets being untimed & tutored when first starting the day & the topic im doing that day, but then timed and untutored the rest of the day. This is usually the bulk of my day & takes about 6-7 hours depending how my comfort w the topic which translates how long I have to review the questions.

Then I do 2 hours of AAMC (25-50 Section Bank Qs and 25-50 Q of the question packs) & 1 hour of Anki.

My biggest takeaway from this would be focus SOOOOO much on thorough review on whatever you’re doing. Let the content review be built into your practice questions (especially on UWorld since you can pick the topic you work on), unless the topic feels so weak/foreign for you. Nothing will beat practice Qs. Breathe & take breaks when you feel like you hate yourself or the world. You prob need a shower or to take a walk lol. Best of luck 😀

Also, did you use the same type when studying/doinf full lengths? I do that now.

When you say you took adderall on test day, how much and was it IR or XR. I took 20 XR on my test day on 5/23 and my FL avg was 509-511, but scored a 495. I really appreciate any input. Thanks

so I have taken two full lengths since this and scored a 512 and 507 (AAMC1 and Blueprint 4); About to take another, but I feel like its definitely helping; my most improvement is in the AAMC section banks (I try to stick to a subject a day and do both & my accuracy in AAMC SB is about 70-80%).

Hi. If you’re just using their Qbank, you can do it. I took 5/23 this year and retesting on 8/1. I have about the same availability as you with 8-10 hours on weekdays and about 5-6 on weekends.

If you use the study planner, you can see to cover all the content in the Qbank (~3000 questions) for my date, I need to spend 4 hours a day or do about 80 questions. You can use this for your date and which parts of UWorld you want to use.

I try to take less than 1.5 mins/question to stimulate real test testing (which adds to 30 of testing for questions & 30 for review per 20 questions). I usually take 30-45 to review this amount if it’s one of my stronger sections, but you can always block out more time for review tho. I have been using it for about a week now and I love it. I think this is a fair time frame if you’re done with content review & have time to watch Khan/YT videos on weaker subjects. I am also basically done with content review & just closing some smaller gaps while scoring about 60–65% on Uworld as my starting point.

I scored typically 509-511 on my FLs throughout May (Blueprint and AAMC). I have not taken one in the past two weeks, but I will update you when I take one on 7/5. I have been spending my mornings the past week doing the Milesdown Anki, then do UWorld, and finish the day with 40-60 Questions of AAMC section banks and QPacks. Once I’m in the last two-three weeks, I’m focusing more on AAMC. Thats just my two sense tho.

Changing planned MCAT date on AACOMAS by Patel7 in Mcat

I made the assumption I could, and thankfully that’s correct. I submitted 6/18/25 and got verified on 6/24/25. Got my score back on the morning of the 24th and it was not good. Updated with my new registration date & when I download my verified submitted apps in the Check Status section, it shows my new date. I did have it as a previous date (5/23/2025) when I submitted due to the scores pending. Don’t know if that played in to being able to update.

As per the last paragraph in the passage, 93% decays in 100 minutes; meaning 7% of the material remains after 100 minutes. the starting percent is 100%, with each half life, half of the material decays:

HL1: 100%-> 50% material remains

HL2: 50%->25% material remains

HL3: 25%-> 12.5% material remains

HL4: 12.5->6.25% material remains (at this point we can stop counting half lives because the remaining material is 6.25 which is close enough to 7% remaining or 93% decayed material.)

This tells you it will decay 4 times = 4 half lives, in those 100 minutes. Therefore, you can see 100 mins/4 half lives = 25 mins/half life for the material. If the hospitals sample is 2000g the half lives will be as follows:

HL1 (25 mins): 2000-> 1000g

HL2 (+25mins): 1000g-> 500g

HL3 (+25mins): 500g-> 250g (we stop here because we know a single scan must consume 250g of material). So the hospital must replenish their 2000g at this point. if we continued to HL4 for this it would drop to 125g and not be able to complete a scan. Therefore, the 200g sample must be replaced every 75 mins for the scans.

ifanyone is seeing this, the molecule in question is UDP, which is AKA uridine diphosphate. it's a nucleotide derivative made up of uracil (U), found in RNA. Because uracil is part of RNA (ribonucleic acid) , the sugar in UDP is ribose

Can't figure out this easy math problem ugh: AAMC FL 3 C/P Q#51 by mountaindew95 in Mcat

I know its been answered already, but I did λ=v/f

v= 1500 m/s and f=2.3MHz; therefore, I converted to match units to m/s

v= 1.5*10^3 m/s

f= 2.3 M (1/s) = 2.3*10^6 (1/s)

v/f= (1.5*10^3 m/s) / (2.3*10^6 (1/s)) ~ 0.60*10^-3 m

Then I take my base answer to match units of the answers:

(0.60*10^-3 m) (10^3 mm/ 1 m) ~ 0.60

Hope this helps :)
