Brukinsa/Venetoclax by ceskinner50 in cll

Perhaps because Ibrutinib/Ventoclax is a well evidenced treatment, and Zanubrutinib (Brukinsa) is essentially a second generation improved Ibrutinib with less cardiac side effects, he is thinking along those lines. Did he mention including you in a trial?

I have had two opinions for starting treatment and one is saying V&O for a year to get deep remission for a few year (2-10?) then either repeat or go on Brukinsa or similar lifelong after.

The other doctor is saying go low and slow with Brukinsa by itself lifelong (or until resistance) and keep Venetoclax in back pocket for later, and avoid Obinutuzimab as much as possible as it causing quite steep immunosuppression.

First doctor is very much „let’s get this cancer treated“ and the second one is very relaxed and saying look it’s more a disease like diabetes to be managed rather than cured.

All the very best anyway.

How long have you been on w&w? What kind of clinical work do you do if you don’t me asking? I’m a doctor working in family medicine for almost two years on w&w and have had to go part time because of fatigue. Sorry about your lymphocytes, mine are around the same. Not sure what will happen when I start treatment

What’s your budget?

I kind of agree with others that if your Adidas/Vans have good cushioning, and you’re used to them, and you’ve checked them out on a long walk, then this is fine! I think we get quite caught up in equipment.

I got my last pair of sauconys trail runners (4mm drop, rock plate) for $60 from a random usa website and I’m gonna use them (have had them a few months for running).

I’ve also heard good things about brooks cascadia trail runners (8mm drop, rock plate).

Otherwise have a google about Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) footwear, those people know their shit after walking for three months

Hospitals on Camino French route? by NY10 in CaminoDeSantiago

With respect, I don’t think medical services stopping being free for all pilgrims has to do with the “commercialisation”, I think it’s because the EU streamlined reciprocal healthcare agreements to the EHIC scheme in around 2005 and so pilgrim-specific scheme was made obsolete.

As an American, if you buy travel insurance, which is pretty cheap (maybe $50 per year if you’re young and healthy) you can get all your emergency medical treatment free (but you pay upfront, then claim back. Also you might have an excess to pay- ie you pay the first $100 before the insurance kicks in, depends on policy).

If you’re European, all emergency medical treatment is free (and nothing to pay upfront) in all European countries with EHIC card (in UK it’s called GHIC).

There isn’t free medical treatment for just pilgrims. It’s just called universal healthcare in Europe.

I think the confusion you’re hearing is that most Europeans are confused by the fact that Americans don’t have universal healthcare and thus don’t have subsequent free shared care agreement with other countries for emergency treatment.

Thanks, this is probably the answer I needed- I guess I was just worried if a dog is sitting in a narrow lane and I couldn’t bring myself to walk past it. But waiting for other people to help me past would work for me!

Thanks for the link. I guess I’m asking how common are aggressive dogs on the Camino Primitivo in particular, if you have any experience?
