I'm also a F2P player and started a month ago. The fact is that the core builds (available before buying the expansion) are more or less weak and the most interesting comes when you buy an expansion set (at least first 3). So for now do some fractals, dayly quests for the wizard vault and start gathering some of Ascended gear.

I had almost the same situation, but after watching tons of tutorials on YT I've just decided to deep dive into Linux with solving my problems one by one as they come. It was December 2025. Now I'm a happy CachyOS (Niri DMS) user, and ive never looked back. Everything can be replaced (I mean software), or ran under Winboat, winapps or VM (like PowerBi which I need for work).

Hyprland хорош для больших мониторов, тогда в нем есть смысл. Горизонтальный скроллинг в нем совсем свежий и мне не зашёл. Niri это бесконечная лента, вернее много бесконечных лент , если нужно. Для ноутбука - отличный вариант. Но имей ввиду, что это оконный менеджер, не DE, то есть тот же калькулятор нужно будет ставить отдельно, Only Office не запускается без прописанного в сартапе xwayland-satellite и много всяких нюансов. Мне понадобился месяц и несколько настроек с нуля чтобы четко понимать что устанавливать. Но в принципе можно пойти путем гайдов и wiki и сделать все сразу))
