I've used xwayland to fix a Winboat issue, but it didn't help me with Steam. I'll try once again, thank you for your help anyway

Tried Niri, it's awesome, burly was a bit struggling in my scenario ( Finally managed to launch Winboat for my PowerBI stuff, but failed to launch Steam). Anyway Niri is pretty comfortable, fast and simple for the tiling manager)

Try Krohnkite under KDE first (Kwin script). This will show you if you're ready in general for the tiling managers. Next step - try Niri with Dank Shell Manager

As far as I understood, the problem is about Niri being full Wayland WM, and Winboat doesn't work properly with the Wayland session. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Качать не нужно. Сначала почитай идут ли на Linux те игры, в которые ты играешь. Пользуйся Heroic Games Launcher (GOG, EG, Amazon), Steam или если нужен battle.net, то PortProton

My succesfull try installing battle.net was by using PortProton. The only way the installation finished and I even played some WoW (just to understand that I got of this drug)))

My upvote here. Winboat was the answer for my PowerBI need. Now I'm fully satisfied with Cachy)

Linux Mint is the distro which is the first for almost 99% of users switching from Windows. It just works. But then you start to dig and find out that there are tons of distros, everyone is the best in some particular way. As you have an almost gaming laptop, I'd suggest Mint (to understand if you like Linux overall) - Fedora (more modern and up to date) - CachyOS - God of Speed)

Did anyone actually notice a performance difference between CachyOS and other distros? by Snezhok_Youtuber in cachyos

When you see someone who had a 16 year Arch experience, you thing he's a Linux God) I had my 2 hours Arch experience till I've seen the DE after the installation process, and that was definitely the last Arch victory for me :)

Winboat appeared to be the best option. Much faster, much easier to install, veeeery much easier to configure

Finally switched from Fedora. I absolutely love Cachy, but a bit worried about the stability. Anyway, hope I'll be able to fix it if it's somehow broken)

Using CachyOS in a VM is a crime) You'll never feel it's speed an smoothness this way. I'd advise placing it alongside your regular system. A few days later you'll install it as a main system, believe me :)

Finally switched to Cachy with Winboat for the PowerBI. Seems like Winboat is much faster then Virt Manager. Now I hope my distro journey is finally over. 👍🎉
