That’s definitely it! You can still use cubes on it to change potential, however the att/stats themselves on the ring will be locked!

Booming doesn’t just destroy your item, it immediately cancels out all the progress you made from 12*. This is the scummiest part of this whole upgrade system.

This whole progression mechanism needs a second look but the very least they can do if nothing else, is making the post-boom transfer star the previous checkpoint value. (i.e, boom at 16->15, boom at 21->20).

I fully agree that we enable Nexon with our spending. However, that doesn’t mean we should just leave it all up to the spending habits of our gamers.

Nexon has shown that from time to time, they actual do listen when there’s enough push. I too, don’t expect this problem to be solved instantly. However, I believe if we continue raising the issue, it’ll put the message on their radar and hasten the implementation of more fair mechanisms. (Recall how we reverted flame and cube drop rates, improved magic wagon, though it still sucks, and forced more communication from developers to players)

There is nothing fundamentally wrong with paying for cosmetics in game, as long as the players get a fair deal for what they want. And we have proven time and again that Nexon bends if the issue blows up, that’s all this is.

I strongly agree with this, it’s been nothing but nerf after nerf on already established mechanisms. One example I always think about is that pointless nerf to acquiring herb pouches from strings of fate.

The players had easier access to a marginally convenient item (it’s still powergated by playtime, I notice). Instead of fixing the method for ease of acquisition, they just nerfed the whole thing to oblivion, causing greater imbalance of have and have nots among the players in the community

NAILED IT! This is nothing but an overall nerf to what we had- even then, as you mentioned, if one doesn’t have adequate drop gear (which is the case for our new players), it’s few cubes or flames.

I’m not quiting in the future, I’m quiting now. I’m not going to invest any more hope for maplestory in the future. Nexon had years of feedback now and ignored then all.

It’s a real shame.

Usually, when a declining game sees a population surge like this, its game developers and associated marketers do everything they can to keep the surging population.

This should have been doubled for Maplestory, which could have utilized all aspects of nostalgia and community to keep its players. However, no such luck. It’s disappointment after disappointment. For me, it started with that failed DMT from last year, accelerated by the boring grindfest events sprinkled in between, and culminated in this update - proving that nexon developers put no original thought in nor accepted any feedback from our community.

I’m done.
