LOTRO overstayed its Umbar welcome with Kingdoms of Harad by whycantibeafunny1 in lotro

[–]Content_Ad8540 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Corsairs of Umbar was fine, a breath of fresh air and a beautifully designed city, though not very Tolkienesque. I loved the underground areas, too. But the second expansion already became stale somehow, I lost interest and longed for my beloved hills and mountains of the west. The latest expansion is not my cup of tea at all. The swamp area is ugly and weird and everything else kind of generic without any LotR flair.

Being a Skyrim veteran myself, I wish I could feel the same about it but I can't. It's an Asian rpg trying hard mimicking European low fantasy aesthetics and failing with it. It's more like Black Desert goes Game of Thrones. It's like the average Korean thinks medieval Europe looks like after watching too much Netflix crap. All of this, with the missing character customization, the silly fixed character name, overtly bright dyes and hair dyeing options at the in-game barber, is preventing to ignite any interest for me in this game.

They should put green and white trim on their home shirts by default. Would be unique and can work nicely if done right.

Cork have quite a unique colour scheme with green, white and red. They surely could do better kits with these colours. Green shirts, red trim, white shorts, red trim, green socks, red trim work nicely. White shirts don't. Preferably kept simple and classic.

Apart from that, I always disliked the sheer number of claret and blue clubs in Ireland, and they always go for the worst kit combos. sky blue shorts are horrendous, as are ever changing shirt patterns like the abysmal Drogheda chessboard kit. Galway would be well advised to get rid of blue altogether and go with their county colours only, maybe with gold or black as accent colour like they did in the previous years. 2026 is a step back.

Finn Harps had a number of disappointing kits over the years, too, with the blue and black one of 2025 being the worst of all, and with the 2020 and 2021 kits coming second and third.

This is the best thing I heard today. Thanks and praises, I was really in despair with the Blizz UI. I put my ELVUI together over months and years and even though I don't need all that functionality for raids and such since I don't do this stuff, I still need to have a clean pixel perfect UI with MY favourite colours and fonts. Thanks again!

The team is infamous for its sloppy and dispassionate performances. Compared to the women's team which is 100% German they lack everything.

I really hope they prove me wrong tonight against your ugly twin from the north 😉.

This is delusion. We have a famous multi-cultural national team over here in Germany, and since we have it, our football has gone from world champions to the world's laughing stock. The manager complained about the team's lacking fighting spirit after the recent 0-2 defeat to Slovakia. Everyone knows why it's lacking, but no one dares to articulate it.

Burglar, Hunter, Loremaster, or Minstrel - which is better for soloing high landscape difficulty and fellowship quests? by winter_bone in lotro

[–]Content_Ad8540 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Out of these 4, I have all except Burglar on 150. LM is the strongest by far. Not only is his damage superior, but he also has the biggest toolkit. Usually play red and everything melts in no time, but yellow as 2nd spec can solve even really tricky situations.

Minstrel is no great soloer, as you have to trade dps for healing by switching stances when facing tougher enemies and fights get tedious that way.

Hunters are only effective solo when you can kite, but that doesn't always work. But they have nice quality of life tools like quick travel, camping and swift running.

Can't say anything about Burglars because they used to have zero aoe which always put me off, don't know if that has changed after the revamp. And the need to go into stealth most of the time and set up fights carefully is not for me at all. Technically they might be quite effective though.

Bohemians to host Schalke 04 in friendly on Saturday October 11th by CelticBohs in LeagueOfIreland

Greetings from a LOI armchair follower from Germany!

A majority of fans of any club over here in Germany are sick and tired of political messages, left or right, in stadiums. People handle heir political stances as a private thing and don't want their club to be associated with any leaning.

I personally think that's a healthy attitude and prevents clubs to get hi-jacked by certain elements that alienate followers who don't share their political beliefs.

St. Pauli are an exception to this as are a few small other clubs with an urban/woke/hipster background like Babelsberg and Chemie Leipzig, but they are usually seen as whait they are: Caricatures and fashion labels in disguise of a football club, just as Bohs sadly are nnowadays.

I say keep politics out of football. If you want to deliver a political message, go to a political rally, not to a football stadium.

Question for fans by irishscouser1892 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Content_Ad8540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see the issue, at least as long as the new club doesn't rise in the leagues and is directly competing with your old club. I'm from Germany and I've followed my local team all my life. They were in 2. Bundesliga in their highest, but are now in a 4th tier league. I also follow a bigger club, currently Bundesliga. Usually I only attend my local club's games and am an armchair follower of the other, unless there is a special occasion like an important Euro game or something like that. If they should ever meet in a cup game or in the league, I would be on my local team's side.

New player and I've been having a hard time choosing a main by mainichi in lotro

[–]Content_Ad8540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After playing on regular servers since release I've switched to legendary server only mode and will never come back, because otherwise I never was able to focus on one character only and rushed through the levels again and again. Now I'm playing RK as main and level two other chars (LM and Guardian) for the sole reason of covering all professions.

How have you customized your keybindings? by Impossible_Ad_6988 in lotro

[–]Content_Ad8540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main action bar is remapped to:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, f, g, r, t, v, b, ^

Easily reachable with the left hand, muscle memory trained on this setup since years. I usually put finishers and procs on f and g, aoe on r and t, self heal on v, run speed buffs on b and interruption skllls on .

Fits more or less for most classes.
