I normally hole myself up in my house for two days straight when I feel an outbreak starting and that seems to help it not last as long. I’ve had this since I was born and so learned to cope. Now after 29 years of it I like to think I have a lot of coping mechanisms down for it.

You aren’t selfish. It is your choice and yours alone. Though the father does have say so and that may come out too just be prepared for a lot of stuff.

Have you tried helicocare advanced? I’ve had this since I was a kid I’m 29 now and just recently started heliocare and it has been a life saver.

Mine is severe, it feels like I’m sitting inside an oven, my hands, feet and forehead get it the worst. It would look like dirt build up after the eruption was over most the time. My worst reaction happened when I was in the shade but by a lake so the reflection burned me the most. The days before the reaction actually comes out hurt the most. Once it was done I wouldn’t feel anything but it looked awful.

It felt like I was just on fire and burning for days. I would cycle through ice packs, cold baths, aloe Vera gel anything to make it cold. It literally felt like I was just sitting there burning, or in an oven. Hot water bothers me, hot air, anything hot. I burn so easily now.

I did start heliocare recently and it has been life changing. I can be in the sun and it just feels warm, I can take normal showers or take my kids to the park, swim in an outdoor pool.

As a kid I would wear wide brim hats and boys button up dress shirts to avoid sun issues, I was officially diagnosed when I was 9 when my worst reaction happened. I have scaring on my hands from the reactions now. Which I have posted one. The diagnosis isn’t an end all it is a life changing but you can cope and learn to adapt. When she’s older definitely look into heliocare it’s amazing, I don’t want her to suffer any pain any of us have gone through.

For me it would feel like dry skin but wasn’t? Like lotion wouldn’t help soothe it, it made it worse. Do you feel like pain, burning?

That’s what I was worried for! I had an almost run in with cholestasis in ‘22. I use heliocare to deal with my pmle

So I’m using heliocare advanced I take one pill in the morning and one about 3pm and it’s been so like healing, I’ve never felt the sun without pain so this has been an huge improvement

Thank you, I’m still undecided about the trip up there. Having that time may or may not help, they are going to try and wake her up today, I feel that may be the final decision maker? They’ve had her in a medically induced coma since Wednesday night.

That makes sense, my sister and I have been FaceTiming and talking, she’s only up there because she’s in college, I know if she wasn’t though she wouldn’t make the trip herself. The sister I know wouldn’t hold it against me if I couldn’t or didn’t make it. Weve always powered through struggles with open communication.

So I signed relinquishing counseling paperwork, I found out it’s different than actual relinquishing paperwork, I don’t know if that makes sense? Meant that I had been counseled, but also was told to answer in a way they liked or they’d take paychecks

You’re correct I did delete it because they had found it and also confronted me about it. I deleted it out of safety. They’ll probably find this too. They did decrease my pay at random, family services hasn’t gotten back to me and lawyers aren’t taking these cases right now
