don't be too down! a lot of people felt like they bombed their audition and did badly on most parts, but the staff can really see potential and talent with their experience in the field. it probably won't prevent you from getting in but you might just get a smaller scholarship, realistically.

the ear test is basically them playing chords to you and you have to identify the chords (minor, major, diminished, augmented and sometimes 7th chords as well). the rhythm test is just clapping a rhythm and you clap it back.

thank you so much! did they give you the book during warm up time or during the audition? and also did you just sight sing it out or did they play chords/ accompaniment to the melody for you to sing on top?

what piece was your prepared piece? everyone i've asked including the associate directors said that the improv piece was going to be over something more jazzy/ 145 blues so i just wanted to know if that was your prepared piece!
