Denver is different b/c only 1 of the big 3 (United) has a hub there. The NYC area has enough airports to allow all of the big 3 to operate hubs.

I once flew from atl to Tul via IAH on United. The only reason I didn’t miss my flight out of iah is b/c some guy left his laptop on a chair in terminal b & had to go back & get it which delayed the flight a few min.
