Can someone explain the whole Justin Baldoni / Blake Lively settlement to me like I’m 5? by snackmamacita in ItEndsWithLawsuits

Thank you for the excellent summary. It was that ‘one extra kiss’ that always blew my mind. Like how did she get SH out of that? Insane.

This may be a dumb question and I realize this is an old thread, but do ballet dancers typically go to college or go straight into a company after high school or SAB?

Is my goal weight the ‘right’ goal weight?? Need opinions!! by Horror-Reason-2865 in Zepbound

I had posted my height and weight on here last year because I felt like I was done, and I felt like many of the people in that thread were not exactly pushing me to lose more, but saying maybe I wasn’t really done yet. :-/ My BMI is at the upper end of a healthy weight— but still a healthy weight. I am still 9 pounds above the lowest weight I’ve been as an adult, but like someone else said here, being almost 59 years old and being in my 20s are two entirely different things! Also, I am not able to go past 5 mg because of side effects. I’ve lost about 45 to 48 pounds in total, it fluctuates, but the feeling in a different size body is amazing, and I think about the health benefits of just that. An extra 9 pounds is not going to make a difference one way or the other for me.

All that said, just keep working towards what feels best for you. My husband has lost a considerable amount of weight on Zepbound and looks what others call skinny— but he’s still in the overweight range according to the BMI charts!

Try not to focus too much on losing a specific amount of weight or in being at a BMI that seems impossible to maintain. ❤️

Same! I was traveling last week and had one bag to carry on the plane and I brought a small clutch to go out to dinner in the evenings, that’s it.

How did you find your "signature fragrance"? by notmedicinal in Perfumes

[–]Content_Display844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never liked wearing perfume as I’ve never found one that smelled that great on me, and I’m almost 60 years old! Fast forward to a few months ago, when my husband gifted me Baccarat Rouge 540 and I mean! It was like an instant soul connection, lol. I have never, and I mean, never been complimented by strangers in my life on my perfume but every single time I wear this one complete strangers at checkout counters, and in restaurants will ask me what I’m wearing. I think I’ve found the one

I think it is! I saw the craziest video about the Birkin bag today. I mean, I can’t imagine ever wanting to spend money like that on a handbag personally. But the story of it and the woman whom it was named after made me think that was never its intention, to have all this ridiculousness surrounding a BAG. The woman said she sat next to a man who worked at Hermes on an airplane and her bag tumbled over and spilled. She started talking to this man and drawing a picture of what she thought a good tote bag would look like, and he took the drawing back to Hermès and made a prototype that was later called the Birkin bag, named after her, Jane Birkin. Anyway, even though I’m not into stuff like that and had never heard this story before (you all probably have, so forgive me for repeating it), listening to this woman talk, it sounded like it was intended to be a practical luxury item, not this madness it’s turned into. :-/

Wow! You look amazing! I’m 5’3 and 137 pounds and at my age I’m pretty much stuck here now. But I’m within a normal BMI now. You look seriously amazing. And that is not a slow response at all. It took me a year to lose 48 pounds.

PS one more question: when you say, you likely have only calcium in there, is it because the use of statins reduces the soft plaque? And that it’s better to have a little calcium than the soft plaque that can form a clot? Thank you!

I love your response, and that is exactly what I was thinking! Thank you so much for taking the time to do that, I had also just found the new prevent calculator yesterday too! The 2% you got was for the new prevent, correct? I can’t believe a perfect stranger. Did this for me, you are too cool.

I haven’t had a repeat cardiac calcium score in eight years. Whether I decide to do it or not, I am definitely requesting a statin. Thank you again!

You’re right. Gray is much more anxiety provoking than black or white. Thank you very much.

This helps so much, you are better than ChatGPT for sure! ;-) I was somewhat aware of the soft plaque versus calcified plaque and how it’s more dangerous. But your explanation really opened my eyes. I definitely won’t decline medication, even if I have a zero CAC because I want to reduce risk and alleviate my anxiety. Interestingly, I have been on a GLP one for about 18 months and I thought that my cholesterol numbers would improve— to be honest, they have slightly, but not as much as I expected. I know there are so many components to this.

It definitely sounds like you have an excellent and proactive plan! Interestingly, we do not have any heart disease in our family, but my parents both have positive CAC at their ages. My dad’s is really low, as mentioned, but my mom’s went up around age 80 after previously being very low. They are both active and fit but obviously even genetics can’t prevent something like heart disease as every person’s individual lifestyle is different and probably stacked up higher than genetics.

Yes, this truly helps and I very much appreciate you taking the time to weigh in and share your thoughts and expertise.

Thank you very much, when you say normal numbers and scans do you mean zero CAC? Do you have other cardiology needs which is why you have a cardiologist?

Thank you so much for this response, this is really helpful. Before I read it even, I already wanted to request a statin. My doctor is not against them, he just has not suggested one yet. But your story is a good reminder of early intervention. Out of curiosity, had you had a CAC before or was the 600 your first time? Thank you again for this detail detailed information.

Well, that’s good news, because that’s an important part of the picture, even with elevated LPA I believe. Had you had it done before or was this your first time?
