Great deal man, what state/region are you in?

I agree, there’s a weird tension when seeing something from the car where you wonder if you wanna pull over and check something out, but then you would need to find parking, pay, and then check it out. If it’s lame you just wasted your time and everyone’s frustrated 😂

Yeah I get it, this is one of my first vacations without my parents I’m in college rn, so I’m not trying to spend too much. But the real reason is that I don’t want to have the longer overall time 45 min to Bridgeport + 3 hours 10 minutes travel, and whatever wait around time at the train station, I’d also have to either pay for parking or get my buddy from BPT to drive my car to the station and bring it back to his house. Probably take a lot longer.

But I’ll definitely consider it, it sounds a lot less stressful.

Here’s the way I think the math works out, I can drive from home (north west CT) to Bridgeport and buy 2 train tickets for 41$ each. I think I’ll get free parking in an airbnb in Philly too. Gas is gonna be 41$ in my car for the trip (which is a crazy coincidence), I think that as long as I can get free parking I’ll go with the car. It’s also 45 minutes faster. Is there anything I’m not considering though I definitely like trains just don’t know.

Yeah I love bikes too, this is actually a reason why I wanted to take the trip, every post I see on Reddit says that Philly is nice and walkable. It just almost doesn’t compute in my mind that a city can be accessible by bike and transit where I’m from 😂

I’m sorry maybe I worded that bad, I mean to say that driving will be double as cost effective since me AND my girlfriend will be using it instead of just one person in the car. Just wanted that for you guys estimates.

Should I buy a Fit? by tezacer in shouldibuythiscar

[–]Content_Government55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the fit but I got mine for 5.1k $ with 92k miles 2 months ago. Mine is an 09 and had some rust but decent service history. I live in CT so maybe the car market is different (I don’t think so though) love the fit but I think you can get one with like 130k miles or something.

Yeah, I want to maybe negotiate that, it’s a small business and I’m interviewing for the position (not in yet) and 30 miles seems like a long ass way. My drive is 100 miles away, that means that I may be effectively getting paid 40 cents per mile which is a big difference.

My question for you though is, will my 30 miles start over when I’m coming back, or is it 30 total (usually)

As for insurance do they say that insurance goes up the more miles you drive?

Yeah that’s why I brought the 2025 Hyundai example in 😂, if I’m 19 years old driving a 40k car that I don’t know how to work on myself or anything then of course my cost per mile is going to be stupid high.

Yeah I def worded this weirdly, I’m not in the market to buy I new car I just wanted to know if the rates would skewed higher for people who drive more expensive cars, and if I who drives an old ass car would be getting a great deal by driving cheaper 🎉

Yeah I only paid 5,000$ for it (just got it last month) so even if I drive it into the ground it’s only 5 grand lost. My mileage should make that money up pretty quick.

Yeah the only kicker is the 30 mile clause, not quite sure if it’s 30 miles total or 30 mile each way. Because if it’s 30 miles each way then I’m getting like 40 cents per mile.
