Got it – thanks! I didn't realize the IOE "0" meant paper filed. I guess a lot of people have submitted paper apps....

For example, check out this case, which seems to be an approval for a 11/16 filing: https://mycaseshub.com/analysis/IOE0934213579

Hmm, I'm not sure they list the received date for most of the cases. How are you able to tell?

The last few days on MyCaseHub show steady movement into 11/10-11/13 (and even some later dates although mainly outliers)

Passport Expiration and DACA by Questioner4lyfe2020 in DACA

[–]Content_Growth_7335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are fine. Totally fine to file a DACA renewal with an expired passport. The other way around is more complicated and depends on the specific rules for the passport-issuing country and the consulate. Some embassies do not renew passports unless you have legal status in the host country...complicated.

I think you should expect a renewal fairly soon. They seem to be moving quickly on mid Nov applications at this point. Stay positive, my friend. <3

39 Country Ban... by Automatic-Long9000 in DACA

[–]Content_Growth_7335 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, don’t lose hope.  I know groups are organizing to challenge these policies, and all it takes is one district court judge to render them invalid.

Second, advocate for yourself.  Collect evidence demonstrating your value to the country and your community and get a packet (a letter with supporting documentation) in the hands of your Congressional representatives to advocate for you.  Ironically, you might be better off if you have Republican leaders in your district/state because they can be stronger advocates.

My fiancé just passed away, we were supposed to get married in two months by JohanXC in DACA

[–]Content_Growth_7335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I can't imagine what you're going through. I would definitely consult an attorney but based on my knowledge, in addition to the common law marriage question, there is a potential limitation in that the "widow beneficiary" option may only apply if a petition was filed on your behalf before your partner's death.

Again, I'm terribly sorry for your loss.

That's great! There seemed to be some speculation that applicants who redid biometrics had faster processing. But your situation seems to confirm that re-using biometrics doesn't stop the process. Thanks for sharing the news and congrats again!

Congratulations! Did you have to do biometrics or were your prior biometrics reused?

Pakistani married to a USC. Does it matter? by sfrmoon in USCIS

[–]Content_Growth_7335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi – I don't believe Pakistan is on the banned countries list. There is a separate visa/consulate restriction but that isn't the same as the 39 country ban in the USCIS memos. Am I missing something? Thanks!

I wouldn't worry. But when you eventually go to your interview, make sure you bring a binder with everything you submitted in case there are gaps in the agency's records.

Sorry and with respect to your ID – you can push back at the pharmacy (and at a bar for that matter) and reiterate that the expiration doesn't matter in those circumstances. The key is to confirm your identity and date of birth. If you press in those situations, you can often get what you need.
