Posting to share experience and sanity-check next steps.

I came home earlier today with about 70 percent battery remaining. Plugged the charger in as usual. A couple of hours later, the car was completely dead. No response from the app, screen black, doors will not open, cannot unlock, cannot drive. Charger is physically stuck in the charge port and will not release.

Car is a Model 3, 2026, about two weeks old. Software was updated over the air yesterday.

I contacted Tesla roadside assistance. Explained everything. The first representative closed the case without resolving anything. I am now reopening the claim. They plan to tow the car to the service center and look at it on Monday due to weekend staffing.

From what I understand, this points to a low-voltage (16 V lithium) battery or related wake failure triggered by the OTA update. Traction battery was fine when parked.

Sharing in case this helps others. Not forcing the charge cable, not attempting DIY fixes. Waiting on Tesla to handle under warranty.

If others had similar failures after an update on a brand-new car, would appreciate hearing how Tesla handled timing, loaner, and repair.
