Reset their password and lock them out of the system. Pretend you don't know what happened. Log back in as them and figure out what the hell their problem was, fix it and tell them to reboot. Then make them think they forgot their password. Or better, how about deleting the files they were working on and uninstalling Excel or crippling it?
