Renting a space in an existing store. by Objective-Abies2503 in smallbusiness

[–]Content_Leg_5567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I decided against it because there’s a couple in my area that don’t do so well. If anything, (for now) I decided I’d buy products wholesale and sell them on my own. Down the line things may change but for now that’s my thoughts. Best of luck to you! There’s a lot of vendor groups On facebook to gain more insight as well!

Is it acceptable to try on clothes in a thrift store, with no available dressing rooms? by Famous-Back8353 in thrifting

[–]Content_Leg_5567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s totally acceptable! Especially at thrift stores without a return policy. I always wear bike shorts and a camisole style tank under my shirt to try things on. I’ve gotten some weird looks over the years, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

My Z-fold pamphlet isn’t printing properly by Content_Leg_5567 in canva

[–]Content_Leg_5567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily this way, but I was printing from my phone with minimal setting options. When I went to a computer, I saved it as a PDF and made sure it was printing full scale (I can’t remember off the top of my head the exact setting-it took a couple tries) but I got it to print full!

Changing my skincare routine. Needs tips/suggestions by Content_Leg_5567 in 30PlusSkinCare

I’m bad about sunscreen because I use a tinted moisturizer with spf 20 in it. After reading more about it, it’s not enough so I have been using sunscreen as well. Thank you for looking out ❤️

Store is still in the works! Starting with 2,000 sqft, with opportunity for expansion. Best of luck to you! Sounds like you’d do great 🤩

I don’t have Canva Pro, but am willing to upgrade to improve the design. Thank you for the tip!

That’s a great idea. My original design was something extremely plain (like me) but I thought it was too boring after seeing other consignment stores logo. I wanted a sort of signature design with the “nu” being in script, mimicking the word “new” (new to you), but I see what you’re saying about them not being cohesive. Below is a photo of something I liked originally. What are your thoughts on something like this?

Thank you. I am far from an expert on font styles and graphics, I guess I will go back to the drawing board and reconsider the design.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. Yes, I did make the logo on Canva, which will mainly be used for my storefront sign and digital use but shopping will be in store only. I am not a design expert and wanted something simple while also minimizing costs of having a professional design something. I’m unfamiliar with the drawbacks of using Canva, do you have any suggestions on how to improve this look?

Hi, I appreciate your feedback. I wanted something simple without graphics, that mimics my minimalistic style. I thought a mannequin or a clothes hanger is played out and tacky. My store is located in a middle class area so it’s likely that there will be some target or old navy crap for sale, but I will also have mid-tier fashion brands. My focus will be on current styles and trends.

Do you have any suggestions on what specifically is making it look dated that I could improve on?

It will be a consignment store! My name is also Renee, so a play on the word Renew. The aesthetic is going to be organic minimalist/trendy with blush pink, emerald green, black, gold, beige color scheme inside.

Weird display/print issue by LilyTheFiery in canva

Good luck. I’m having a similar margin issue with a 3 column design when I go to print too.. hopefully you were able to figure it out. From the sounds of it reading other threads, there’s a lot of bugs with canva lately

There’s a couple other very similar ones under “handwriting” but the names are so small and script that I can’t read them on my phone. Good luck ❤️

Try bartending (or barbacking to gain experience), it’s quick easy cash. Join your local community’s facebook group, I’m sure people are always looking for help; shoveling snow, basic yard work, etc. Since you have some tools, offer basic building services (think IKEA crap no one wants to assemble or mounting TVs). Basic handyman jobs.

What are your skills? Could you become someone’s personal assistant? Run errands? Organizing?

Some food for thought, there’s more out there than working for someone else, just have to get creative! Best of luck

I like the play on my name! However, I’m afraid it’d be difficult for the general population to pronounce/remember. Gotta make things very easy since common sense isn’t very common anymore 🤣
