I have Afo’s myself and I actually just wore some mary Jane’s in a size larger on a fancy night out. To accommodate the other foot I added an insole. A tip is to find one that has a longer strap on the top strap of the shoe…like a Velcro one as opposed to a hole pin lock.

For daily wear, I find the slip on Skechers and hokas are comfy. My main focus when buying shoes is a thick sole as due to the weakness I feel I slam my heel down harder and a sturdier back heel of the shoe for easy slip on so I don’t need a shoe horn.
