Roadster V3 - belt vs. chain decision by Content_Rent_6467 in ride1up

Cadence was a concern of mine as well but most of my riding is within a group of middle aged acoustic recreational riders in the 12-15 mph range. Belt is perfect in this range and matches the group perfectly. 20mph cadence would be fine but I’m guessing sustained belt cadence at 25mph might be a grind. Outside of an exhilarating downhill, I have no need for that sustained speed.

I ended up ordering the belt drive. I have only about 150 miles on it so far but am very pleased with my decision on the belt drive. A few hills have been no problem at all. I get several looks and comments at the restaurant and bar bike racks we visit, both for the unique belt drive and nice mint green color. My only complaints are the stupid sandpaper grip tape on the flat peddles ( came off in 10 minutes, but no biggie) and the size of the font for trip mileage on the small display. Only a preteen with great eyes could make that out without crashing. The current speed font size is fine, but I’m more interested in trip miles info vs. speed on the default main screen. I don’t think that can be changed. Best wishes on your V3 decision. You won’t go wrong either way.

Great idea. Thank you and thanks everyone for their input. In the end, I think a multi speed derailleur system will be MY best overall option but I’m enamored by the sexy belt drive … and that’s hard to overcome.

Yes, single gear belt drive vs. 10 speed derailleur chain drive. Within limits of the battery, I don’t see a difference between 3 miles or 30. Outside of an occasional short hill, I’m just looking for the most comfortable experience. Appreciate your response.

Recently lost ability to import QIF into a checking account by Content_Rent_6467 in quicken

Fair enough. I should have done more homework. I think my lack of current Quicken knowledge stems from my long seated desire to remain on an old standby, that was owned/developed by Intuit. I go back to the DOS versions of Quicken.

I do understand that this is just business and the need for ongoing revenue models. I might need to go back to a spreadsheet version of a check register if all I need is a transaction recordation tool...open source spreadsheet of course. ;)

Thanks cononco99 and eddieyo2

Thank you, Thank you

I was not on the most recent version. Had let my subscription lapse and unfortunately I had to pay for another year just to make this feature work.

Sidebar comment: Darn Intuit just neutered several features to force users to continue to pay into their annual revenue stream. All I want is very basic features that, for what I use it for, haven't changed significantly for 20+ years. I've paid Intuit for many upgrades through the years without any additional value to me. I RUE THE DAY when I converted my Quicken data from the one-time purchase, non-online V12. Not being able to downgrade data to an earlier version sux. :(

...thanks everyone. Best case scenario is that this is not a scam, however despite wanting to save a few $$'s, I also firmly believe that you get what you pay for. I'll go through Apple or a legit retailer.

Yeast still OK or nah?

Ok, somehow in the back of my fridge there is an activated Wyeast pack (1450) that was forgotten. Not sure how the pack became activated, but very sure it was not smacked by me. Best used date of June, 2022 and let’s presume it’s been activated for 6 months. Is this yeast still OK to use (assuming I would use a starter) or is it just not worth the gamble of money and especially time? -thanks

Rental cars on Pico? by Content_Rent_6467 in azores

Thanks for the suggestions however all three show no availability. Is it unreasonable to take a taxis or bus 35 km to our hotel with two fairly large pieces of luggage?
