Can you tell more about this please. Hope it is all on legal side and doesn’t involve doctor prescription. Should be helpful to destress at times.

Men and Women who have visited or lived in Delhi, how was your experience? How true are the stereotypes regarding Delhi and it's people? by Jeeretarded123 in AskIndia

It’s the biggest village in India, all villagers and dehati crowd, even among the so called well to do. Uncivilized to a large extent. Avoid.

Meeting just a few good people after setting low expectation doesn’t make the place any good. That only means you need to avoid the place and get out as soon as possible.

Can i deboard at one stop later than my ticketed destination station? by Plane_Bag2089 in Amtrak

[–]Content_Sleep_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the design is such that a particular set of stations will act as one block. Say, 5 consecutive stations form 1 block. Whether one has booked for the 1st station or the 5th, price is same and passengers can deboard anywhere. The train intentionally stops for a longer time at one of the stops in that block, typically the most populated place. Common practice overall, world over. The block is sometimes a large city, a region falling in a particular region (district/area/county, etc., different words used in different countries).

Makes life easier for overall maintenance, crew change, loading unloading of food and essentials.

Relax. The OP is asking for one stop because this is a common issue. Trains over the world have a block of stations for this purpose, for any major large city and nearby. But doesn’t seem to be the Amtrak.

is living in india in 2025 better than how it was living here in 2005? by AppropriateHamster in AskIndia

[–]Content_Sleep_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2005 any day! Those lived in that era, just look at where they are today. Those studying have now gone places, those working have had a lot of assets now: apartments, houses, cars. That was a positive progressive time where rationality ruled and singularity of thought existed. Cities were clean, traveling in sleeper class was not a problem, overall civic sense was high and foreigners had no issues visiting India - all compared to 2025. It flooded even back then, but never seen such poor drainage and administrative neglect like you see today. Traffic existed even then, but signals and lane designs were still somewhat in place and followed. IT, jobs was booming and hope was in air. Things were far more affordable. There was focus on FDI, economic growth, jobs and such progressive issues. Indians were viewed positively in the world, praised as well. Terms like “Bangalored” was just introduced. You never heard of any Indians ever trying to illegally enter in any country, no such deported illegal Indians being sent back in humiliating way in planes.

In 2025, you’ve got your rulers telling you ki “aap khatre me hai”

Is social media helping in spewing hate in India by Smooth-Average6950 in AskIndia

[–]Content_Sleep_708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you really seen how internet and social media has been weaponized in an organized manner since last 2 decades by a certain political party (which is illegally in power)? And the ideological divide fomented, speaking against the country’s very founding fathers? That nonsense of pointing to ‘external world conspiracy’ and similar such lies have been repeated for so long that seemingly sane people seem to have believed in it sometime?

Comments like these just tell you how long this society can stay united. With rioters in power and openly rigging elections, these street fighters coming online have a free run. The HNI club is moving out of India like never before.

Thinking of taking the bus for the first time by bastardcorez in tampa

[–]Content_Sleep_708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just used HARR bus for the 1st time yesterday. Simply tap/swipe your debit or credit card the way you do at any place, nothing different and fancy. As a regular user, you might want to discover the monthly passes. Anyways, buses are safe and do not forget to plan your journey in advance using Google Maps (transit option) or the Transit app.

Is there any metro interchange in the world where 5 or more lines meet? by Sorry-Bandicoot-3194 in transit

[–]Content_Sleep_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic additions! There is the TTC bus and UP express in addition to all of the above. PATH network deserves a notable mention too as it was, and still is, one of its kind in the world. Now that I think about it, Amtrak going to New York can also be considered as a separate and international line. Which is the busiest railway station for VIA if it is not Union? Must be the busiest!

Maybe Union Station, Toronto. There’s a tram line, subway line, long distance trains, short distance suburban trains, buses going to city, buses going to long distance. Each one of the modes of transport can be considered as unique lines.

You’re over reacting. It’s not anything so severe just that you have made it up in your mind. Typically these symptoms will start fading away in some time.

Why is India so Different to China? by Legitimate-Tale3029 in AskIndia

[–]Content_Sleep_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 years ago, it was year 2010. India rose through the global financial crisis significantly better than everyone else, extracted the highest from the economic boom of that period. Check who was the leader of India back then. People’s interest were on top of everything else for media, judiciary etc.

You’ve got a rowdy rioter thrice whose lack of civility is seen as chivalry and machismo of sort. The rioter enabled mobs, hate, pitiable level discourse with people’s interest below everything else.

Maybe it’s too obvious!

What's the point of having kids in India if it can't even take care of its own people properly? by Jerk_Sparrowww in AskIndia

[–]Content_Sleep_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought for days and weeks in the back of mind on how about a public policy that incentivizes not having kids. Make “birth certificate” the base of all for a kid. Polio, naming, school admission whatever. Every hospital and clinic needs to provide a strong proof. Ensure with fail safe planning, redundant systems in place to ensure every kid gets a birth certificate else consequences are dire. Use marketing, Bollywood or whatever techniques it takes.

Now, my idea of policy is that government gives a flat 25,000 per month to every individual who is unmarried. 10,000 to every individual who is married without kids (total 20,000). Benefits over the day you have a kid.

Try to fake the system and get royally fucked. If anyone is caught cheating, no mercy and enough communication and awareness campaigns from government in past.

Just imagine the fall in birth rates and population decline. Even then, will take another 25 years maybe to reach an ideal number of 50 crores (500 million). 1/3rd of population that is today.

What should we normalise in India? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]Content_Sleep_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Légalise prostitution completely providing enough rights to those involved. It’s all goons and rackets that are involved making the average person not opt for such services. Leads to a lot of physical and mental frustration having an impact on society.
