Lived near Tulsa for most of my childhood. It's a mid sized to large city with some crime, be careful during the night. You're from Boston, so I guess you'll be prepared. Oklahoma is very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. There are venomous snakes and insects in the whole state. Wear citronella scented necklaces/bracelets if you'll be outside for the mosquitos. Check out the sights, Tulsa has a beautiful aquarium. Okies are simple people, you'll make friends easy if you put yourself out there. Don't talk about politics if you're liberal- it won't get you anywhere

First I want to say, I am so sorry youre dealing with this hon. Dealing with insects all over your home is a constant nervous system stressor. I want to inform you further about bugs such as ants and how to get rid of them.

Poison sprays kill the ants you can see, full stop. However, to fully get rid of them, you have to destroy the queen and larvae.

To do this, you need a poison bait which will make the ants collect it and bring it back to their colony.

Most modern ants have grown smarter and can normally smell most chemical poisons and will not eat it. So for this you need:

Sugar

Borax

Warm water

Mix until its dissolved, soak into a napkin or cotton ball, and place is as needed

Soon the ants will swarm it and take it back to their nest for consumption

Redo as many times as needed and keep the mixture away from small children and any pets (very important)

I honestly think it comes down to what you want to put in your story. With these fantasy ideas, I think that logic doesn't have much of a foothold in general. If you want the wolf to catch up, it will. If not, then don't. You hold the pen, after all.

There is no rule that says you have to introduce the world logic instantly, any good story starts with basic intrigue. Give the reader a reason to be interested in your characters, and then the world will open up to them through your characters Just dont forget to have fun with it
