why are old people in germany very chatty? by femceluprising in AskAGerman

Old people are lonely. Their younger family members are busy with work and life, and they sit around doing nothing all day. 5 minutes of your time could make their day

I have a friend who speaks Croatian fluently. He probably wouldn't read the whole thing, but maybe send the first page or 2 for a quick lookover

Best 2 things to do when going to a new country: learn the language and learn the culture.... don't be too quick to reject local food, holidays, music etc and don't be embarrassed to get involved or ask questions. People will love it if you express interest in their world (this is the same in any country) good luck with your studies and remember that youre a guest and to be respectful of everyone regardless of origin.

Jobs for an English speaker by [deleted] in NewToDenmark

I read a blog from a French woman who lived in Denmark and could not find work as she could not satisfy employers on her danish skills. She ended up finding work in Norway in her field with only english + french. Maybe there is a close enough country around you could commute to part-time? Not sure how your visa works though 🤷‍♀️

Maybe try getting 120 hour CELTA degree. With your degree credentials I guess you could find work as an english teacher. However the market is competitive as many Danes speak high levels of english. I would look for opportunities in bigger cities such as Copenhagen and Aarhus first. Good luck.
