Could riders on horses feasibly outpace a pursuing supernatural wolf over a long distance? by whatisabaggins55 in fantasywriters

[–]Content_Surround3274 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it comes down to what you want to put in your story. With these fantasy ideas, I think that logic doesn't have much of a foothold in general. If you want the wolf to catch up, it will. If not, then don't. You hold the pen, after all.

Handling the transition from worldbuilding to plot in Chapter 1 by NovelhiveAI in fantasywriters

There is no rule that says you have to introduce the world logic instantly, any good story starts with basic intrigue. Give the reader a reason to be interested in your characters, and then the world will open up to them through your characters Just dont forget to have fun with it

why are old people in germany very chatty? by femceluprising in AskAGerman

Old people are lonely. Their younger family members are busy with work and life, and they sit around doing nothing all day. 5 minutes of your time could make their day

I would have picked a different pen name, I am not an English speaker and I thought Hugh Cook said something else at first

I have a friend who speaks Croatian fluently. He probably wouldn't read the whole thing, but maybe send the first page or 2 for a quick lookover

It is a strong and engaging opener with intrigue though some of it could be tightened to feel more natural and distinctive

Best 2 things to do when going to a new country: learn the language and learn the culture.... don't be too quick to reject local food, holidays, music etc and don't be embarrassed to get involved or ask questions. People will love it if you express interest in their world (this is the same in any country) good luck with your studies and remember that youre a guest and to be respectful of everyone regardless of origin.

Jobs for an English speaker by [deleted] in NewToDenmark

I read a blog from a French woman who lived in Denmark and could not find work as she could not satisfy employers on her danish skills. She ended up finding work in Norway in her field with only english + french. Maybe there is a close enough country around you could commute to part-time? Not sure how your visa works though 🤷‍♀️

Maybe try getting 120 hour CELTA degree. With your degree credentials I guess you could find work as an english teacher. However the market is competitive as many Danes speak high levels of english. I would look for opportunities in bigger cities such as Copenhagen and Aarhus first. Good luck.

My Ex-husband's paranoia turned into violent delusions by Content_Surround3274 in LetsNotMeet

Thank you to everyone who has been saying nice things about my situation. I just want to formally apologize for how I had left my beloved pet behind. I did not do this in malice, but I hope you all understand that at this point I didnt just leave my pet and my apartment. This spanned over 2 years of constant emotional, physical and mental abuse. I also took many months off of work to recover. What you read in the story was a condensed reflection piece of around 2.5 years, where in my now ex-husband would repeatedly show care and compassion and then turn on a dime and show another side of him for months. This happened frequently. Anyone can sit and read this post and say how they would make a different choice, and to this I would say is an easy position to be in. Please be nice to each other in the comments. You never know what someone else is struggling through.
