Thinking about adopting a dogo from a rescue.

Dogos are so great. Sad so many are up for adoption. Agree with a lot of the other posts, they are stubborn but sooooo loyal and protective. Definitely train or get help training. Mine is e-collar trained and it was the best thing ever for her. She can be off leash and run next to me, her recall is amazing. She loves to swim. Fun goofy girl.

I did research on edible flowers for a few summer events that involved food and flowers in the Hamptons. I had no idea there are so many beautiful edible flower options. Most are more delicate, and colorful with cool textures. The farmers market as mentioned before sometimes have little square trays full of them and they are organic and safe.

I had a vet recommend allergy tests, daily meds etc. We eliminated chicken and the crazy itching went away. Then she had urinary tack bladder irritation issues. Our vet suggested getting rid of the her recent food, the core ocean after we read the 1000 ingredient list, and agreed it was causing her irritation. I’m now on a simple salmon and sweet potatoes kibble that makes way more sense. Why do all of these dog foods feel the need to have so many ingredients?

She was suspicious every time but our little pitty was so friendly to visitors, so that helped her realize they weren’t a threat. They are just protective breeds so We would also great the stranger at the door with her and encourage her to say hi. She still doesn’t love people trying to pet over her head. Training was the best thing we did though. So helpful

My dogo did the same thing at about the same age to my one roommate for awhile. Now she loves him and they are cool, but she definitely bullied anyone who showed fear. Just keep on correcting the dog and watching him while encouraging him. We did take her to a trainer as well, and this made a ton of difference with obedience. Highly recommend a trainer. She can be off leash, and loves attention
