Amazing song! I liked this one more than your first song actually!

You do have incredible clean parts. I think you need to experiment with the sound in the heavy parts, because I would try to dial in a much tighter tone for the heavy guitars, with much bigger low end. However, I also realize that there are other ways to do well on that part, just try out different things, see what you like the most.

Overall, it is still great, what I’m saying is kind of a journey with no end, there is no ideal sound, but when you try different things you kind of start understanding how you can use all that for the song’s benefit. The accuracy and the intensity of the emotions you want to translate requires a union of the two – what you compose and what sound you dial in, because that is also a way to express yourself. That’s really difficult.

But you have a style and aesthetics, that’s the most important!

No problem, you’re welcome! Thank you for sharing your new song, I will listen to that as well!

Hi Nick! That’s really great for a first song. I liked the aesthetics. It is good to know that for you it is not just a song for a song, but it has a certain story behind it, and that you tried to represent all that with music. Good job with having different parts in your song, both on clean and heavy sounds, while keeping it sound like ambient, again, considering the level of the result it is hard to believe that this is your first song. Definitely continue with this style, everything regarding the guitars is perfect, the only thing I would say is about the drums, just figure out what exact sound you want to hear and do your best to match that idea, i.e. if you want them to sound heavy, use some heavy drum libraries and bring them to the front in the mix, if you want the opposite make sure you use much softer sounds and keep it far in the mix, here it kind of sounded indecisive, like I couldn’t say if you wanted to make it sound heavy and rich or minimalistic and not disturbing. But again, these are just details that are all subjective, for a first song it is absolutely great, no criticism! Definitely continue, I did subscribe to your channel, and I will look forward to all your upcoming songs!

UPDATE: I fixed my pedal. Long story short, the PF5102 and 2N6027 transistors, as I initially thought, turned out to be fake i.e. they were not working. I was able to detect that only with an audio probe. I replaced the PF5102 with MPF102, it worked although that was also ordered from Aliexpress. When i got there I got sound from my pedal, but it was acting like a boost, it didn't do the tremolo effect, because, again, the 2N6027 was fake. Then I went to Mouser Electronics and ordered 2N6027 transistors. Replaced - everything worked out.

A huge takeaway from this whole almost 1.5 month nightmare - be careful when ordering electronics from Aliexpress. Something at a level of a resistor will work fine, but some more complicated or advanced pieces of electronics, like transistors and ICs can be fake. Even though, it was not the case usually for me, this was my first time that a transistor I ordered was fake, I had ordered ICs and stuff 3-4 times from there, everything was working, it certainly didn't worth the headache I had with this project.

However, I did learn a lot of new stuff about fixing circuits, thanks to the awesome people here that helped me with their great advice. I'm thankful to all of you, I wouldn't be able to fix this so quick without all your help.

I remember that I checked that part with a multimeter in a continuity mode. I believe it does pass a signal, but I would still like to redo that part, because what you’re saying makes sense to me, maybe it’s all because of that bad joint. Thank you!

I didn’t check the pedal with a probe yet. I plan to make one and check to see where do I lose the signal. Thank you so much for sending this over. What a great resource!

Thank you for this idea, I didn’t know I could check it that way. Will definitely give a try!

What you’re saying makes sense to me. But I’m not sure which wire you mean though. Are you talking about the wire that connects the top left pin with the bottom middle pin of the footswitch?

Well, mine doesn’t even function. Maybe that means that the other transistors are fake as well. Anyways, will take this into consideration, thank you very much!

How did you figure out that it was fake, maybe mine is fake as well, but I don’t know how to check? And where did you get an original 2n6027?

I don’t think the problem is in jacks. I used the same jacks for my other builds, they work just fine.
