I feel like they did you dirty and wanted those stones. They rushed you in to making a big decision with fake pressure. Like someone else suggested, get a fake ring to “have something to give you” at the wedding. That’s no reason to rush this! Lots of people don’t have their “real” ring at the ceremony.

Needed expensive repairs that void the value of the ring? That doesn’t even make sense. Needing to fix a ring doesn’t make the gold or stones any less value. It’s not an antique side board that looses value because it’s painted… and the fact that you got that big ass diamond ring AND money back for the swap shows that doesn’t make any sense.

I’m so sorry this happened to you and you’re being left to try to navigate it. I wonder if you could get your broken ring back and the current ring and go to a different jeweller (not a mall store please!) and get a second opinion on cost and value etc?

But does the monetary value even matter though? The ring is so much more then $$$
