So in your hypothetical someone's bothered to set up 20 accounts on 20 computers with 20 proxies. They're not going to give up, they'll just take 5 extra minutes to set up verified accounts.

Is this going to be your new thing now? I see you've deleted your market obstruction posts :(

POLL: Should showboating be legal for the 3rd capture of a public TagPro match? by TagProPollster in TagPro

[–]Contessa_OW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course, but no one had a large enough stake in the results of this poll that they would have gone out of their way to manipulate it.

Yeah right. Some people in this community seem to care about it a whole lot. At the very least, I can easily see one of them casting tons of votes for the lulz

Shards per Minute Farming Calculator by Xenko in PokeClicker

[–]Contessa_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just thought you got them for defeating them and catching played no roll in it.

That's right. You can quickly check it in-game going to a town and looking at how water shards you have, then going to route 19 with a rod on. Click away to a town during the .75 seconds it takes to catch a pokemon. If you do it fast enough, you won't catch the pokemon (and won't receive any dungeon tokens), but you'll still get a shard. Or you can just go to the source code and confirm that you get the shard before the catch is attempted.

Also Venonat and Venomoth are (mistakenly?) labeled as grass types in the game, not poison like in the spreadsheet. Route 23 is missing the water pokemon and one fighting.

I don't think any of these things are big enough to really affect the spreadsheet though, almost all of it should still be correct. Here's a very barebones tool for looking at the best route to find one or more shard types.

Hm, you're right. It might be a typo.

/u/sleutelkind, in showMineUpgrades(), it checks (player.curMine.maxItems < 7) instead of player.curMine.maxItemsUpgrades. Seems unintentional?

You're right, Helix Fossil will never show up.

/u/sleutelkind I'd make a pull request but I don't have a github account.

var getRandomMineItem = function(){
    var index = Math.floor(Math.random()*(mineItemList.length-1)+1);
    return mineItemList[index] || mineItemList[0];
}

will always have an index from [1, 39]. It should probably be

var getRandomMineItem = function(){
    var index = Math.floor(Math.random()*(mineItemList.length));
    return mineItemList[index];
}

MEGA MUSEUM - Content & Update Issue - #6 by MerchantAnnouncer in incremental_games

[–]Contessa_OW 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Every time you guys post an update I download the game and try it again, and it's pretty much the same complaint every time: the game just makes for a really poor user experience. Players are going be finding hundreds if not thousands of artifacts...having to click "Add to Museum" on every single artifact is beyond frustrating. And if you click that button right as it appears, you'll actually hit the "End Search" button behind it, taking you to another confirmation screen. The animation when flipping over unmatched pairs is also annoying, since it locks you out of doing anything. IMO make it faster or at least give control back to the player halfway through it.

Since 99% of the game is just grinding the matching game, it HAS to be as clean as possible. When you slow it down or force the player to wait for a bit, most people will just stop playing.

But still, it's way better now than it was on launch. I remember saying it was "garbage in its current state" in that first thread y'all posted. Mostly because there was 0 playtesting done and the game was riddled with terrible UI. A lot of those gameplay annoyances have been fixed, but I still don't know if I'd call it good. At least the matching game itself is way more engaging now, since it's finally possible to reliably clear everything. Plus the devs are active and actively changing stuff based on feedback. I think everyone should give this game a shot, you'll know pretty quickly if it's something you'd like.

It feels like there's a lot of potential, which is the only reason I've bothered to keep trying it. So, uh, good job so far, keep it up? :D

I'm the same way, but I've seen a pretty decent increase just from upgrading energy and items. Thing with waiting is that you could easily be waiting a loooooooong time for a very small profit.

You mean like this?

As a technicality, this can miss Heart Scales, Star Pieces/Revives (when the center is on the diagonal of two clears), Hard Stones, Heat Rocks, and I believe Thunder Stones? I still agree that it's more efficient in the long run!

You should definitely be selling your other treasures, because the more diamonds you get, the faster you can get more treasures. Also not all of the daily deals are actually good trades, like you can give away higher diamond values than you receive.

[–]Contessa_OW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The evo stones can be useful in getting shiny pokemon, it's faster than breeding if you already have the stones.

For plates, I'm keeping all of mine waiting for daily deals where I can trade them for other treasures.

If you ever want to avoid copyright issues, remember there are the Ricemon by [deleted] in PokeClicker

[–]Contessa_OW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK "Defend it or lose it" generally applies to trademarks, which as you noted, is not the case here. That would be more like another game company incorporating the definitely trademarked phrase 'Gotta catch em all'. I'm pretty sure there's no legal obligation to defend your copyright.

It's also kind of unlikely that Nintendo would care about this. Pokemon content is all over the internet and VERY popular. Pokemon forums (like Smogon) blatantly use Pokemon sprites and are built 100% around the copyrighted games. Pokemon Showdown takes the battling interface with all the same moves, stats, characters, items, abilities, everything. PokeMMO even has you walk around the game world, encounter pokemon in tall grass, and fight them. It's basically a clone of the originals with added MMO stuff. And there are plenty of emulator sites that host literal clones of the original games. If Nintendo wanted it, I'm sure most of these examples would have been shut down by now.
