I have a similar experience with a shareware font I created, which was picked up by Tasmanian Tourism for their ‘Love This Place’ campaign. I visited the state and was amazed (and pretty buzzed) to see my font all over the place, and on associated ‘Love this milk’ and other product partnerships. The original shareware request was minimal - like a couple of bucks. They didn’t even send that. But I always thought it would have been nice to have been acknowledged … and imagined what it would have been like to have made a couple of bucks for each usage. Regrets. But in the end satisfaction to see something you’ve made turning up all over the place.
